Милостью
и неизреченным
человеколюбием Божьими, в нашем храме во имя святого мученика Иоанна
Воина успешно продвигаются работы к завершению строительства и
облагораживания места собрания кающихся грешников в святую церковь
Христову.
By
the grace and ineffable philanthropy of God, in our church in the name
of the Holy Martyr John
the Warrior, work is progressing successfully to complete the
construction and ennoblement of the place of the assembly of we penitent
sinners, in the holy church of Christ.
Мы непрестанно удивляемся
промышлению Божьему о нас, даровавшему нам то, чего мы не заслуживаем;
We are constantly amazed at the providence of God for us, who gave us what we do not deserve;
то,
о чем многие мечтают, но не имеют –
кусочек Царствия Божия здесь, на земле;
Something that many dream of, but do not have - a piece of the Kingdom of God here on earth;
только
бы мы, люди, совершали то, ради чего и были вызваны из небытия к жизни – служили и покланялись Триединому Богу!
If only we, people, did what we were called out of non-existence for- that life-for those who serve
and worship the Triune God!
Невозможно этим чувствам
благодарности и радости удержаться не выплеснутыми из глубин души и сердца наружу.
It is impossible for these feelings of gratitude and joy to be avoided or hidden, which emanate
from the depths of the soul and heart
Да и не должно быть так.
And it should not be so, that they be hidden.
Ведь Господь, не желающий,
что бы кто погиб, но что бы все к познанию Истины пришли, то, что даровал нам, предлагает и всем тем, кто окружает нас.
After all, the Lord, who does not want anyone to perish, but that everyone would come to the knowledge
of Truth, what He has given us, He offers to all those who surround us.
«Даде учеником, ученицы
же народом» (Мф. 14:19).
"Let him be a disciple, a disciple to the people" (Matthew 14:19).
В
нашем постсоветском безбожном обществе, переполненном
сектами, предлагающими вместо хлеба камень или вместо рыбы змею,
принимающими подчас самые причудливые формы, изобретающими все новые и
новые виды, выработалось устойчивое недоверие ко всему новому.
In
our post-Soviet ungodly society, full of sects, offering instead of
bread, a stone or instead of a fish, a snake, this situation
sometimes takes on the most bizarre forms, inventing more and more new
species, thus in us, a constant distrust of everything new has
developed.
Так и к нашему делу Божьему проходящие относятся с осторожным
любопытством, по-видимому, полагая, что мы не те, за кого себя выдаем.
So,
to our work of God, the passing novelty attracted people, treat us
with cautious distrust and curiosity, presumably believing
that we are not what we say we are.
Тем более, что наш небольшой городок, как большая деревня,
не сдерживает слухов, распространяемых Московской Патриархией о нас, как о раскольниках и сектантах.
Moreover,
our small town, like a big village, does not question or restrain
from any rumors spread by the Moscow Patriarchy about
us, as about us as: "schismatics and sectarians".
А
потому, предметом первейшей важности, мы сочли необходимость
пригласить своего архиерея, дабы он не только разделил бы с нами радость
наших успехов, но и засвидетельствовал собою или лучше сказать освятил
дело нашей местной скромной общины, как дело всей Церкви.
Therefore,
we considered it necessary to invite our bishop not only to share with
us the joy of our successes, but also to testify
whether or not to sanctify the work of our local modest community, as
the legitimate normal business of the whole Church.
Ведь по слову священномученика Киприана Карфагенского:
«Где епископ, там и Церковь, и где Церковь, там и епископ», т.е.
After all, according to the words of the Priest-Martyr Cyprian of Carthage: "Where is the bishop, there is the Church, and where
is the Church, there is also a bishop",
i.e.
через своего архиерея мы обретаем общение со всей полнотой Единой Соборной Церкви Христовой,
сами в себе уже являя эту полноту здесь, в конкретном приходе.
Through our bishop, we find communion with the fullness of the One Catholic Church of Christ, in ourselves already showing this
fullness here, in this particular local parish.
К нашей радости, владыка любезно согласился нас посетить,
и мы погрузились в приятные заботы по подготовке к этому знаковому для нас событию.
To our joy, Vladyka kindly agreed to visit us, and we plunged into the necessary pleasant tasks to prepare for this event, which
is a blessed sign for us.
Нам удалось успеть застелить церковный двор, а так же его
прилежащую территорию тротуарной плиткой, организовать две больших клумбы, завести плодородной земли и посадить цветы.
We managed to have time to lay-out and finish the churchyard, as well as its adjacent surrounding territory with paving slabs,
and to organize two large flower beds, and to prepare them with fertile soil and then to plant flowers.
Так что не только мы к празднику Всех Святых земли нашей,
но и наш храм вместе с нами, цвел и пах.
So not only are we in the holy celebration of All Saints of our land, but our temple together with us, has blossomed and grown
in progress.
Владыка приехал с протодиаконом и двумя иподиаконами днем
в субботу, перед Всенощной.
Vladyka came with a protodeacon and two subdeacons on Saturday afternoon, before the All-Night Vigil.
Мною был показан храм и все постройки и, насколько я могу
судить, нашим гостям понравилось то, что у нас, с помощью Божией, получилось.
I showed Vladyka and his entourage, the temple and all the buildings and, as far as I can tell, our guests liked what we, with
God's help, have done.
Владыка даже изъявил желание тут же сфотографироваться
вместе со мной на фоне входа в храм.
Vladyka even expressed a desire to be photographed right there with me before the background of the entrance to the church.
После чего, гости были приглашены в дом священника на обед.
After that, the guests were invited to the priest's house for dinner.
За Всенощной все были в предвкушении завтрашних торжеств.
During the Vigil everyone was in anticipation of tomorrow's celebrations.
На
Полиелее митрополит всех помазал святым маслом и мною была произнесена
проповедь о праздновании Всех Святых земли Русской, где я говорил о
необходимости всем нам стремится и к нашей святости, а вернее сказать к
святости Божьей, которая и нас сделает святыми,
если только мы будем покрывать сердечным покаянием наше несоответствие
высокому призванию и будем прилагать все возможные усилия к преодолению
этого несоответствия.
On
the polyelie,[ the 'Many Mercies', -Praise Ye the Name of the Lord.
Alleluia ] the Metropolitan anointed all with holy oil
and I delivered a sermon about the current celebration of All Saints of
the Russian Land, where I spoke of the need for all of us to strive for
our own holiness, or rather, toward the holiness of God, which will
make us holy even if we cover ourselves with
heartfelt repentance, our inadequacy to such a high calling, and that
we will make every possible effort to overcome this discrepancy.
После вечернего богослужения владыка Агафангел со своей
свитой порадовали меня тесным общением за ужином у меня дома.
After the evening service, Vladyka Agafangel and his entourage pleased me with our face-to-face communication, at dinner at my
house.
Ночлег гостей организовала наша прихожанка, имеющая, как
и многие Бердянцы, на побережье моря скромные, но уютные номера.
The lodging for the guests was organized by our parishioners, who, like many Berdyans, have modest but cozy quarters, opening on
the seashore.
Утром, в Воскресение, в 8:00 мы встречали своего архиерея
испеченным одной прихожанкой караваем и выращенными другой прихожанкой цветами.
In
the morning, on Sunday, at 8:00 we met at the church door, our bishop
with the traditional baked round bread/with salt, from the
parishioners and the from others, and with flowers raised by another
parishioner.
Встреча удалась торжественной – протодиакон Михаил громогласил,
иподиакона чинно облачали владыку на кафедре, хор пел слаженно.
The meeting was a success - the protodeacon Michael thundered, and the subdeacon vested Vladyka, and lead him to his cathedra,
while the choir sang harmoniously.
Было бы вполне уместно употребить здесь слова Владимировых
послов из Киевской Руси в Царьград, что мы были толи на земле, толи на небе.
It
would be quite appropriate to quote here the historic famous report of
Prince Vladimir's ambassadors from Kievan Rus who went to St. Sophia's
Cathedral in Constantinople, [and then reported back to him]: that
we "knew not if we were on earth or in heaven".
Ко времени Малого Входа солнце поднялось над храмом с Востока
и через окно в кровле озарило место перед престолом, где предстоял митрополит.
By
the time of the Little Entrance, the sun rose above the temple from the
East and through the window in the roof, it lit up the
place before the throne, where the metropolitan was standing..
Солнечные
лучики, преломляясь о камни архиерейской митры, рассыпались по своду
алтаря так, что он стал похож на планетарий со множеством звезд, как бы
символизирующими сонм святых русских торжествующих ныне у престола
Владычнего.
The
sun's rays, refracting from the gem stones of the hierarchical miter,
scattered on the altar's ceiling, so that it became like
a planetarium with a multitude of stars, as if symbolizing a host of the
saints of that Holy Russia, triumphant in Heaven today, at the throne
of their Lord in His Heaven.
Традиционное
особенное место архиерейского богослужения,
протяжное и мелодичное «ис полла эти» готовились петь два моих старших
сына, но разволновавшись от такой ответственности, у них это удалось не с
первого раза.
The
traditional special place in the Liturgy, for the episcopal
worship, the intricate and long and melodic,['Eis polla eti despota']
was prepared for by my two oldest sons to sing, [i.e. the 'Eis pola
eti despota"] but having become agitated from such responsibility,
they sang it not quite correctly the first time.
Владыка
сам поддержал их своим пением, и они, переведя дух, исправились.
Vladyka
himself supported them with his singing, and they, having received his
encouragement from his spirit, corrected themselves.
По
окончании Литургии, владыка обратился со словами проповеди о
необходимости твердости следования за Христом, жизни с Ним сердцем
и душой, ни к чему другому их не прилагая, храня себя от уныния
причиняемого нашими падениями, и полагании себя в бездну милосердия
Христова, могущему нас привести к Царствию Божию.
At the end of the Liturgy,
Vladyka spoke with the words of his sermon on the need for firmness in
following Christ, living with Him with our heart and soul, not adding
anything to them, but keeping
ourselves from the despondency inflicted by our downfall, [i.e. the
effects of the Fall of Adam], and placing ourselves in the abyss of
Christ's mercy, ....into the Kingdom of God.
Затем все мы прошли Крестным Ходом, являя Спасение Божье всем живущим вокруг нашего храма.
Then we all went around the church
with the Cross-procession, thus proclaiming the salvation of God to all
living around our temple.
Ну
а когда после прочтения Евангелия перед храмом владыка стал окроплять
святой водой и храм и молящихся, подозрительность прохожих
прекратилась и они так же приняли окропление святой водой.
But when, after reading the
Gospel in front of the temple, Vladyka began to sprinkle holy water on
the temple and with his prayers, the attention of passers-by was
attracted and some stopped and they
also received the sprinkling of holy water on themselves.
Прочитав
после сугубой ектении молитву из благодарственного молебна, владыка
обратился с поздравительным словом к нашему приходу,
подарив огромную лампаду храму и вручив каждому иконочку с календарем.
After reading a prayer after a
litany of prayer for a thanksgiving molieben service, Vladyka addressed
us with a congratulatory word to our parish, presenting a huge lamp to
the temple and gifting to
each person an icon with a church calendar.
После
богослужения сестры нашей общины накрыли в трапезной части храма стол,
где все мы имели радость предоставленной возможности
пообщаться с Первоиерархом Русской Зарубежной Церкви.
After the service, the sisterhood of
our community covered with food, a table in the refectory of the
temple, where we all had the joy of being given the opportunity to talk
with the First Hierarch of
the Russian Church Abroad.
Чувства переполняли наши сердца, так что мы полностью забыли сделать общую фотографию, о чем я очень сожалею сейчас.
Our feelings overwhelmed our hearts,
so we completely forgot to make a general group photo, which I am very
sorry now that we omitted it.
Лишь
уже потом, когда владыка возвращался после посещения еще одного прихода
протоиерея Олега Николаева, он заехал и сфотографировался
сначала с моей семьей, а затем и с, оставшимися для уборки храма,
прихожанами.
Only later, when Vladyka returned
after visiting another Berdyansk parish, that of Protopriest Oleg
Nikolayev, he stopped by and was photographed first with my family, and
then with the remaining people
who were cleaning the church, some of our parishioners.
Слава Тебе, Боже наш, слава Тебе!
Glory to Thee, Our God, glory to Thee!
