Dan Everiss <oregdan@hotmail.com> Mon, Dec 18, 2017 at 7:26 PM Reply | Reply to all | Forward | Print | Delete | Show original However, this seems to be a somewhat complicated collage of past historical and recent photos, personal accounts of individuals, mixed with segments of live over-head aerial  views, -but by seeing it to its  end, I believe  it is well worth viewing, as it gives us some accurate glimpses of the earlier terrible  Stalin's slave-labor era, and then through  the ending slow-death period of the official union-soviet days, and leading up till now.   What is shown here, is the extreme decay and poverty of much of rural Russia and its people today....the main reason that so many younger people there, emigrate and leave, if they can. Also too, we see some of what is or... could be, positive, at least economically. Otherwise, how to correctly define what is Putin's Russia, that is something still in the creating, but his love of Stalin and the good-old-days, of the official Soviet Union, is not encouraging, nor his love of militarily invading neighboring countries, such as he did in  Ukraine.  One recent poll among younger Russians, shows that a large percent, even close to 40-50% of them do not want Putin to stay in power or for their nation to keep going in his direction. They want a country free from dictatorship. If the common citizen of the Russian Federation, is just let alone, -has basic human freedoms, [including of religion!] and without a heavy handed government directing his every move, to practice free-enterprise, some measure of so-called, CAPITALISM, ...to express  his born intelligent initiative, -to  work for himself & his family and to make his own life's decisions, to be an entrepreneur, he will go far to improve his life...and for the welfare of his nation. A common saying from the dreary past official soviet era: "The government pretends to pay us, and we pretend to work"....which illogical nonsense could go on for only a limited time, before the entire country's economy collapses, and many start to starve, -the so-called, 'Soviet Command Economy' as it did have to end. The lesson of history: Marxist-Leninism just does not work!, with its absurd & oppressive anti-human and unrelated to the real world,  economic false 'utopianistic' idiotic Marxist doctrines,  nor in  its false spirituality either. Godless Marxist-Leninism just does not understand nor correctly define, the human condition, or real humans beings. It thus cannot give us any solutions to our human or social problems. Rather than to create its promised, 'heaven on earth' it has rather proven to create, hells-on-earth, where the common man has zero worth or integrity. Socialist-Communism depresses and materially impoverishes most of the population and keeps them in daily fearful and abject never ending poverty and mentally/spiritually  hopeless, while the very few in the upper top ruling class, are among the super rich and super privileged powerful of the earth- in fact far more so than any former absolute hereditary monarchal kings or queens,  in history. Also, Communism  is installed and kept in power, only by its  police and soldier's guns, a false patriotism & mindless devotion to 'The Soviet Fatherland' and enforced by mass murder and forced slave-labor, with the institution of 'gulags', & with its many many torture chambers and prisons. And such false & already well disproven social and economic ideas, many today, all over the world, especially of the non-thinking younger generation, of many countries,  [most of whom never seem to read any human or world history]  still ignorantly and in an anti-historical mindset,  foolishly believe:... is the best path for humanity to go. To that non-thinking mentality, socialism is still their definition of 'progress' . Is it? History tells us the opposite,.... if we read it...and if we use the born intelligence and mental faculties which the Good Lord gave every one of us at our conception. God did not intend for us to be mindless irrational sheep, but intelligent RATIONAL SHEEP, and sacred beings, made in His image.
