*Something
of pre-Czar Peter's ancient Russia, and before the forced
introduction of western 4-part harmony on the entire official
Russian Orthodox Church, when old Russian mono-tone or 'two-part'
monastic chants were all that were ever permissible or used in the
worship, both in monasteries as well as in parishes,
and when believers were not interested in shortened or abbreviated worship services, etc...when God and His worship
came first in their lives.
Note the active participation of the many children, even the little toddlers. And notice the gorgeous iconostasis.
I have no idea which Old Believer jurisdiction this is from, but certainly it is from somewhere, apparently in Russia -(?)
