Added note: And I give my solemn testimony and witness, that Blessed & Martyric Patriarch Tikhon (when he was THE canonical Orthodox Archbishop of all of North America & of all Orthodox people here), specially blessed these prayers and added his dispensation/suspension of that one day's fasting requirements, -"if it fell on a fast or Lenten day", in favor of the great importance of the national American feast of general thanksgiving to God for all of her blessings, saying: "We Orthodox in America should adopt as our own & encourage this soleAmerican national religious celebration, and I order that in all Orthodox churches in America, on this day there be served, IN ENGLISH, these Thanksgiving Prayers."
(This I read personally, in San Francisco, many years ago in an English language early falling apart tattered hard- printed first-edition & a now unavailable book, with Archbishop Tikhon's blessing).
