+ Holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called
Dear Friends,
On 28
September 2016, Protopriest Gregory Williams, who for many years ran the
St. John of Kronstadt Press (SJKP), suddenly reposed in the Lord at his
home in Tennessee. This unexpected development
has resulted in various uncertainties regarding the future of the SJKP
and its various publications, including
The Liturgical Calendar, which has been published annually in spiral-bound book format since 2001.
A few days before Fr. Gregory’s repose, the final technical review of the draft of
The Liturgical Calendar for 2017 was completed; but Fr. Gregory
was called from this life before he could accomplish the necessary
formatting, printing and distribution of that edition. Without Fr.
Gregory’s indispensable contribution, it will not be
feasible to publish The Liturgical Calendar for 2017 in book format.
However, since
The Liturgical Calendar for 2017 does exist in electronic format, it
is my intention to make it available during the coming year, free of
charge, to all interested persons. My plan is to forward it to
subscribers via e-mail in the format of a portable document
file (PDF), with each month to be sent out separately. This will enable
recipients to print out each month, which may then be maintained in a
looseleaf binder for easy reference. If desired, only select portions
need be printed.
In order to accomplish this important task, I am requesting that all who are interested in receiving
The Liturgical Calendar for 2017 send me an e-mail with their
name and e-mail address. Upon receiving this information, I will
acknowledge receipt via e-mail.
It is my hope
to send out the first file, for January 2017, before the end of December
2016 (new style). Other months should then follow in sequence.
Unfortunately,
I do not have available to me a list of prior subscribers. Therefore, I
ask that you assist me by disseminating this information to other
persons who may be interested in receiving
The Liturgical Calendar by electronic means.
All requests to receive
The Liturgical Calendar for 2017 need to be sent to the following e-mail address:
danielolson@cox.net
Related correspondence may also be sent to the same e-mail address.
Please pray
for the response of the soul of the servant of God, the ever-memorable
Protopriest Gregory, whose invaluable labors in publishing numerous
Orthodox materials over many years have greatly
benefited the English-speaking Orthodox world.
And please
also remember in your prayers Fr. Gregory’s widow, the handmaiden of
God, Matushka Anastasia, during this difficult time of bereavement.
Faithfully yours in Christ,
Daniel Olson
