Yes, thanks for
this, I remember fondly her and her robust bodily image and her
beautiful and powerful voice very well, It framed my early years.
She was heard on the
radio, and also seen and heard in the early years of TV, when most
programs were broadcast either live.. or they played
the old silent movies, or early 'Talkies'.
Her, belting out of the patriotic 'God bless America' spoke for all of us.
Also another of her famous songs:
'When the moon comes over the mountain'....which opened her regular TV program.
That patriotic era is long past, it seems.
