Нынешний день посвящен воспоминанию того, как Фома, один из 12 Апостолов Господних, освободился от духа неверия. Фома не был с прочими Апостолами, когда явился им Господь в первый день по Своем воскресении. Сподобившиеся видеть воскресшаго Господа, говорили Фоме : «Мы видели Господа», но он сказал им : «Если не увижу на руках Его ран от гвоздей и не вложу руки моей в ребра Его, не поверю». (Иоан. 20. 24-25). Целую неделю оставил Господь Фому пробывать в этом неверии, и когда снова явился ученикам, сказал Фоме : подай перст твой сюда и посмотри руки мои, подай руку твою и вложи в ребра Мои, и не будь неверующим, но верующим. Увидев воскресшаго Господа и осязая раны на теле Его, Фома освободился от духа неверия и воскликнул : Господь мой и Богъ мой. (Иоан. 20. 27-28). Подобное изменение, какое произошло с Апостолом Фомой, пережили и те два из учеников Христовых, о которых повествует Евангелие, как они на пути в селение Еммаус беседовали с Господом, не узнавая Его, и только когда Он, оставшись с ними вечерять, преломил хлеб и подал им, открылись у них глаза и они узнали Его. (Лук. 24. 31). Неделя Фомина поверия и путешествие учеников в Еммаус - это образы того, что бывает с нами. Не только недели - целые годы и десятки лет остаются многие как бы с закрытыми глазами : носим имя учеников Христовых, ходим около церкви, слышим слово Божие и церковныя песнопения - но нет в нас живой веры, то есть в жизни своей руководствуемся не заповедями Божиими, не любовию к Богу движемся, а следуем обычаям мiра сего и в мыслях наших не Божественная премудрость, а житейская суета. Вот проходит и в настоящем году праздник Пасхи. Пасха, как я уже много раз повторял, не есть просто воспоминание события воскресения Христова, это есть действительное таинственное явление нам воскресшаго Христа. Является нам Господь и ждет, когда мы узнаем Его. Мы празднуем, как будто возвышаемся над обычной суетой, но открываются ли наши глаза, чтобы видеть пребывание воскресшаго Христа с нами, - подвигается ли язык наш воскликнуть : Господь мой и Богъ мой ! Несомненно есть верные рабы Христовы, которые чистою душою приобщаются радости воскресения, но мы и их не знаем, и измеряем себя только собою не ищем познания Христовой Истины, не просим Божественной Премудрости, не дорожим тем, в чем является образ Христов. Милостивый Господь дает нам, как Фоме, время приготовиться к новому явлению, идет Он с нами, как с Еммаусскими учениками, хотя мы не узнаем Его, - идет, чтобы открыться нам, когда мы будем способны видеть Его. Итак, воспрянем духом, осяжем и разсмотрим пробывающаго с нами Господа, чтобы Ему воскликнуть : Господь мой и Богъ мой, а не заискивать пред тем, что устрашает ложным величием, и не заискивать пред тем, что не спасает, а только обманывает надеждами. Аминь Архiепископъ СИМОНЪ, бывш. This day is dedicated to remembering how Thomas, one of the 12 Apostles of the Lord, was freed from the spirit of unbelief. Thomas was not with the other Apostles when the Lord appeared to them on the first day after His resurrection. Those who were worthy to see the resurrected Lord said to Thomas: “ We have seen the Lord,” but he said to them: “ If I do not see His wounds from nails on his hands and put my hand in His side, I will not believe.” (John 20:24-25). For a whole week the Lord left Thomas to dwell in this unbelief, and when he again appeared to the disciples, he said to Thomas: put your finger here and look at my hands, put your hand and put it in my ribs, and do not be unbelievers, but believers. Seeing the resurrected Lord and feeling the wounds on His body, Thomas freed himself from the spirit of unbelief and exclaimed: My Lord and my God!  . (John 20:27-28). A similar change, which happened to the Apostle Thomas, was also experienced by those two of the other disciples of Christ, about whom the Gospel relates, how they talked with the Lord on the way to the village of Emmaus, not recognizing Him, and only when “He, having remained with them to eat, broke bread and gave it to them, then their eyes were opened and they recognized Him”. (Luke 24:31). Thomas’ weakness  of faith and the journey of the disciples to Emmaus are images of what happens to us. Not only for weeks –but for whole years and decades many remain, as it were, with their eyes closed: We bear the name of the disciples of Christ, we walk near the church, we hear the word of God and church hymns - but there is no living faith in us, that is, in our life we ​​are not guided by the commandments of God, we do not move with love for God, but follow the customs of this world, and in our thoughts there is not Divine wisdom, but worldly vanity. This is also the Pascha holiday this year. Pascha, as I have repeated many times,  is not  simply a commemoration of the event of the resurrection of Christ,  it  is the actual mysterious appearance of the risen Christ to us. The Lord appears to us and waits for us to recognize Him. We celebrate, as if we rise above the usual bustle, but do our eyes open to see the presence of the risen Christ with us, does our tongue move to exclaim: My Lord and my God ! Undoubtedly, there are faithful servants of Christ who with a pure soul partake of the joy of the resurrection, but we do not know them either, and we measure ourselves only by ourselves, we do not seek the knowledge of Christ's  Truth , we do not ask for Divine  Wisdom , we do not value that in which the image of Christ is. The merciful Lord gives us, like Thomas, time to prepare for a new manifestation,  He  goes with us, as with the Emmaus disciples, although we do not recognize Him, - He comes to reveal Himself to us when we are able to see Him. So, let us rise in spirit, let us touch and examine the Lord Who is with us, so that we may exclaim: My Lord and my God! ,  and not to curry favor with that which flatters with false greatness, and do not curry favor with that which does not save, but only deceives with false hopes. Amen Archbishop  Simon,  formerly of  Beijing  and China   - 1929  ================================================================== Dimanche de Thomas Ce dimanche est consacré à la mémoire de Thomas, l'un des douze Apôtres du Seigneur, et à la façon dont il s'est libéré de son incrédulité. Thomas ne se trouvait pas avec les autres Apôtres lorsque le Seigneur leur est apparu le lendemain de Sa Résurrection. Ceux qui avaient eu la grâce de voir le Seigneur Ressuscité disaient à Thomas : "Nous avons vu le Seigneur", mais il leur répondit : "Si je ne vois dans Ses mains la marque des clous, et si je ne mets mon doigt dans la marque des clous, et si je ne mets ma main dans Son côté, je ne croirai point.” /Jn 20, 24-25/ Le Seigneur a laissé Thomas dans cette incrédulité durant une semaine entière, et quand Il est apparu de nouveau aux disciples, Il dit à Thomas : donne ton doigt et mets-le ici, regarde mes mains, donne ta main, mets-la dans Mon côté, et ne sois pas incredule, mais croyant. Voyant le Seigneur Ressuscité et touchant les blesssures sur Son corps, Thomas s'est libéré de l'esprit d'incrédulité et s'est exclamé : Mon Seigneur et mon Dieu. /Jn 20, 27-28/ Un e  métamorphose  similaire  à celle qu'a connue  l'apôtre Thomas, a également été vécu e  par ces deux disciples du Christ, dont l'Évangile raconte, comment ils ont parlé avec le Seigneur sur le chemin  vers  Emmaüs,  sans  L e reconna î tre , et  que  ce n'est  seulement  lors q u'il  s'est arrêté  avec eux pour manger,  qu'Il  rompit le pain et le leur donna,  que  leurs yeux s'ouvrirent et  qu' ils  L e reconnurent /Luc 24:31/. Ce dimanche de la crédulité de Thomas et du voyage de Ses disciples vers Emmaüs sont l'image de ce qui peut nous arriver. B eaucoup  d'entre nous  restent, pour ainsi dire, les yeux fermés  n on seulement  durant  des semaines, mais des années entières et des dizaines d'années : nous portons le nom de disciples du Christ, nous marchons pres de l'église, nous entendons la parole de Dieu et les hymnes de l'église, mais il n'y a pas de foi vivante en nous, c'est-à-dire que dans notre vie, nous ne sommes pas guidés par les commandements de Dieu,  ce n'est pas l'amour de Dieu qui nous fait avancer , mais  nous  suivons les coutumes de ce monde, et dans nos pensées  règne non  la sagesse divine, mais la vanité mondaine. Nous venons de vivre la fête de Pâque. Pâque, comme je l'ai répété maintes fois, n'est  pas  qu'une commémoration de l'événement de la  Résurrection du Christ, c'est la véritable apparition mysterieuse du Christ  R essuscité p armi  nous. Le Seigneur nous apparaît et attend que nous  L e reconnaissions. Nous célébrons,  nous fêtons,  nous  semblons  nous élev er  au-dessus de l'agitation habituelle, mais nos yeux s'ouvrent-ils pour voir la présence du Christ  R essuscité  parmi  nous, notre langue  s'anime -t-elle pour s 'exclamation : " Mon Seigneur et mon Dieu  . Certes, il ya  assurément  de s  fidèles serviteurs du Christ qui,  d'une  âme pure, participent à la joie de la  Résurrection , mais nous ne les connaissons pas non plus, et nous ne nous mesurons qu e par rapport  à nous-mêmes : nous ne recherchons pas la connaissance de la  Vérité du Christ, nous ne  recherchons pas  la  S agesse divine, nous  ne chérissons  pas ce  qu'est en realité  l'image du Christ. Le Seigneur miséricordieux nous donne, comme à Thomas, le temps de nous préparer à une nouvelle apparition. Il nous accompagne, comme Il accompagnait les disciples d'Emmaüs, bien que nous ne Le reconnaissions pas. Il nous accompagne afin d'apparaître à nous, quand nous serons capables de Le voir. A insi, é levons nos esprit s ,  touchons et voy ons le Seigneur qui est avec nous, afin  de pouvoir nous  exclamer:  Mon Seigneur et mon Dieu , et ne  recherchons  pas  les bonnes grâces de  ce ux  qui  impressionne nt  par une fausse grandeur,  ne recherchons pas la faveur de ce  qui ne sauve pas, mais trompe seulement  par de faux  espoirs.  Amen.
