23.05/5.06 - 2018 г. в Княжево, в монастыре Покрова Пресвятой Богородицы, была отслужена панихида по игумении монастыря матушке Серафиме (Ливен).
23.05 / 5.06 - 2018 in Knyazhevo, Bulgaria, in the monastery of the Intercession/Pokrov of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a memorial service/pannichida for the abbess of the monastery, departed Mother Abbess Seraphima (Lieven) was served.
Панихиду отслужил Высокопреосвященный митрополит Триадицкий Фотий при сослужении священства, клира и в присуствии большого числа монашествующих и мирян.
The memorial service was lead by His Eminence Metropolitan Photius of Triaditsky, together with priests, the other clergy and in the presence of a large number of monastics and laity.

THE SERMON: On the first Sunday after the celebration of the Holy Pentecost, the Church glorifies all the saints.
Почему?Why?
Дабы показать, что святые являются свидетелями и исповедниками Пресвятой Троицы, что их жизнь — от Отца через Сына во Святом Духе.
In order to show that the saints are witnesses and confessors of the Holy Trinity, that their life comes from the Father through the Son in the Holy Spirit.
Сегодня Церковь раскрывает перед нами души святых, приоткрывает их тайну: как жили, чем жили и ради чего они жили.
Today the Church reveals the souls of His saints before us, revealing their secret: how they lived, and for what did they live.
Через святых Церковь глубоко раскрывает смысл человеческого существования, который заключается в том, чтобы человек стал храмом Пресвятой Троицы, обителью Триединого Бога.
Through the saints the Church deeply reveals the meaning of human existence, which consists in making a person a temple of the Holy Trinity, the abode of the Triune God.
И эту тайну, этот смысл, эту цель раскрывает нам Сам Спаситель в прощальной беседе со Своими учениками после Тайной Вечери: “Въ той день уразумеете вы, яко Азъ во Отце Моемъ, и вы во Мне, и Азъ въ васъ.
And this mystery, this meaning, this purpose is revealed to us by the Savior Himself in a farewell conversation with His disciples after the Last Supper: "In that day you will understand, as I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I am in you.......
Аще кто любитъ Мя, слово Мое соблюдетъ и Отецъ Мой возлюбитъ его и къ нему прiидемъ, и обитель у него сотворимъ” (Иоан. 14, 20, 23).
....If anyone loves Me, my word will be kept and my Father will love him and go to him, and we will make our abode with him "(John 14, 20, 23).
В дальнейшем Господь говорит апостолам, что когда Бог Отец пошлет Утешителя Духа Истины во Имя Его, во Имя Христа, Он научит их и напомнит им все, что Сам Господь Иисус Христос им говорил.
Later the Lord tells the apostles that when God the Father sends the Comforter, the Spirit of Truth in His Name, in the Name of Christ, He will teach them and remind them of everything that the Lord Jesus Christ Himself told them.
Эта цель раскрывается во всей полноте в жизни святых.
This goal is revealed in its entirety in the life of the saints.
Святые суть живое доказательство силы этих слов Христа, исполненных духа и жизни.
The saints are a living proof of the power of these words of Christ, full of spirit and life.
В ночь накануне праздника Всех святых, Богу было угодно призвать к Себе Свою святую рабу — Игумению Княжевского девического монастыря Покрова Пресвятыя Богородицы — Матушку Серафиму.
On the night before the feast of All Saints, it was God's pleasure to call His holy servant, Mother Seraphima to Himself -the Mother Superior of the Kniazhevsky Virgin Monastery of the Intercession of the Most-Holy Mother of God.
Она была и есть (так как деление на живых и мертвых – это целиком наше, земное дело) человеком святой и праведной жизни, а такой человек является настоящим чудом в нашем, уже XXI веке, в этом веке небывалого распада, небывалого расчеловечивания;
It was and is (since the division into the living and the dead is the hard fact of our whole, earthly situation) a man or woman, of holy and righteous life, and such a person is a real miracle in our, already XXI century, in this century of unprecedented disintegration, and unprecedented de-humanization;
век распада, разлома, разрушения человеческой природы, потому что без Христа человек не может быть человеком, без Христа человеку очень трудно удерживаться на человеческом уровне.
this is an age of disintegration, breakup, and the destruction of human nature, because without Christ a man can not be a man, [fully human], without Christ it is very difficult for man to keep himself at the truly human level.
Он неизбежно становится недо-человеком, затем — не-человеком и, наконец, - бесо-человеком.
He inevitably becomes a non-man, then - a non-human being, and, finally, - a demonic-man.
Потому такие люди, как Матушка Серафима, являются небесным сокровищем в нашем расчеловечивающемся мире.
Therefore, people like Mother Seraphima are a heavenly treasure in our de-humanizing world.
Возлюбленные, в сегодняшнем евангельском чтении раскрывается житие всех святых.
Beloved, today's Gospel reading reveals the life of all the saints.
Слова св.The words of St.Евангелия, которые вы слышали, поистине живописуют жития всех святых и каждого святого человека в отдельности.
The Gospels that you heard truly paint the lives of all the saints and of every holy person individually.
Основа христианской жизни и святости есть вера.
The basis of Christian life and holiness is faith.
И мы услышали слова Господа о том, что кто исповедует Спасителя пред людьми, того Спаситель исповедует пред Небесным Отцом и святыми Ангелами.
And we heard the Lord's words that whoever confesses the Savior before men, the Savior confesses them before the Heavenly Father and the Holy Angels.
Вера... Мы часто используем это понятие, от силы и духа которого мы иногда так печально далеки.
.....Faith ... We often use this as a mere concept, from the strength and spirit of which, we are sometimes so sadly far away.
Речь идет о вере, которая выводит из мрака незнания к свету богопознания — не теоретического, сухого богословского, а живого опытного богопознания.
It is a matter of faith, which brings us out from the darkness of ignorance to the light of the knowledge of God - not a theoretical, dry theological concept, but a living reality, an experienced.... direct and personal knowledge of God.
Речь идет о вере, которая чудной красотой сияет в сердцах людей, подобных Матушке Серафиме.
It is a matter of faith, which shines with miraculous beauty in the hearts of people like Mother Seraphima.
Тот, кто общался с нею, не мог не почувствовать всю простоту, силу и искренность ее веры во Христа Спасителя, в Божию Матерь, не почувствовать ее беспредельную веру и любовь к ее духовному наставнику Святителю Серафиму, Софийскому Чудотворцу.
Those who communicated with her could not fail to feel all the simplicity, strength and sincerity of her faith in Christ the Savior, the Mother of God, and they could not fail to feel her boundless faith and love for her spiritual instructor, Saint Seraphim of Sofia, the Sophia Miracle-Worker.
Почему после встречи с такими людьми, как Матушка, человек уходит просветленным, окрыленным?
Why, after meeting with people like Mother Seraphima, does a person become enlightened, get wings?
Потому, что он прикоснулся к их святой вере.Because he touched their holy faith.Свет проник через воздвигнутую самим человеком темницу его маловерия, малодушия, привязанности к земному, к преходящему, ко всему, что столь отягощает его душу.
Because light has penetrated through the self-built prison of his lack of faith, his cowardice, his attachment to the earth, to the transitory, to everything that so burdens his soul.
В евангельском чтении, положенном на этот праздник, мы услышали и слова Господа: “иже любитъ отца или матерь паче Мене, нeсть Мене достоинъ;
In the Gospel reading, read on this feast, we heard the words of the Lord: "He who loves his father or mother more than Me, does not deserve me;
и иже любитъ сына или дщерь паче Мене, несть Мене достоинъ” (Матф. 10:37).
...and he who loves a son or daughter more than Me, is not worthy of Me "(Matthew 10:37).
Потом во время запричастного стиха (когда причащаются священнослужители) вы услышали также златословесную речь святителя Филарета Московского, объясняющую эти Христовы слова.
Then, during the singing of the liturgical verse in the Liturgy (when the priests take communion), you also heard the golden speech of St. Philaret of Moscow explaining these words of Christ.
Нечего добавить к этим словам, кроме следующего: почему Господь требует от нас любить Его больше всех самых дорогих и близких нам на земле людей?
There is nothing to add to these words, except for the following: why does the Lord require of us to love Him more than all of those people who are most close and dear to us on this earth ?
Потому что только Он Один дает нам жизнь вечную.
Because only He alone gives us eternal life.
Никто — ни родители, ни братья и сестры, ни дети — никто из смертных не может даровать нам вечную жизнь.
No one - no parents, no brothers and sisters, no children - no mortal can give us eternal life.
Только Спаситель дает ее нам ради нашей веры и любви к Нему.
Only the Savior gives it to us for our faith and love for Him.
А любовь к родителям и детям, к братьям и сестрам становится осмысленной, когда она рождается от христолюбия, от нашей любви к Богу.
And the love for parents and children, for brothers and sisters becomes meaningful when it is born of Christ's-love, from our love for God.
Без нее любовь к родителям, братьям, детям, супруге преходяща, земна, тленна, она умирает.
Without it, the love of parents, brothers, children, the wife is transient, earthly, perishable, and it dies.
Любовь может стать вечной только тогда, когда она исходит из любви к Воскресшему и Воскрешающему, к Тому, Кто дарует каждому человеческому существу не просто жизнь, но жизнь вечную.
Love can become eternal only when it proceeds from a love for the Risen and Resurrected One who grants to every human being not just life, but eternal life.
Те, кому посчастливилось лично знать Матушку Серафиму, общаться с нею, не раз ощущали теплоту и свет ее любви.
Those who were fortunate enough to personally know Mother Seraphima, to communicate with her, often felt the warmth and light of her love.
Всех нас, ее духовных чад, она любила христоподобною любовью.
All of us, her spiritual children, she loved with Christ-like love.
Оттого эта любовь так глубоко проникала в наши сердца, согревала нас.
Because this love so deeply penetrated our hearts, it warmed us.
У нас, в наших отношениях друг с другом, нет и искорки этой любви — хотя они могут и загореться, но очень быстро угасают – и общение между нами становится тягостным, потому что оно происходит через наши страсти.
We, in our relations with each other, do not have the spark of this love - although we may catch this fire, but very quickly it fades away - and communication between us becomes painful, because it happens through our passions.
Встречаясь же с Матушкой, каждый из нас уходил от нее утешенным, чувствуя настоящую любовь.
When we met Mother Seraphima, each of us left ourselves comforted, we were feeling real love.
Ее мера любви к человеку была небесно-широкой, святоевангельской, Христовой мерой.
Her measure of love for mankind was heavenly-wide, of the holy-gospel, of Christ's measure.
Душа человека Божия благоухает бессмертием.
The soul of the man of God smells of, exudes the fragrance of immortality.
Это наше утешение сейчас, когда здесь, на земле, мы прощаемся с Матушкой — ее душа благоухает и будет благоухать бессмертием.
This is our consolation now, when here, on earth, we say goodbye to our Mother - her soul smells sweet and will smell of immortality.
Посмотрите, каково величие силы Божией: даже останки, мощи святых людей, несмотря на то тленны они или нетленны, нередко благоухают.
Look, what is the greatness of the power of God?- even the physical remains, the relics of holy people, despite whether they are perishable or incorruptible, are often fragrant.
Сама смерть благоухает бессмертием, облагоуханны эти святые мощи Дарителем Вечной жизни.
In them, Death itself smells of immortality, as these sacred relics are ennobled by the Giver of Eternal life.
Этим Он укрепляет нашу слабую, хрупкую веру в то, что Он воистину пришел, дабы дарить людям жизнь вечную.
By this He strengthens our weak fragile faith in the fact that He truly came, to give people eternal life.
В сущности, живы святые и Матушка тоже жива.
In fact, the saints are alive and Mother Seraphima is also alive.
Смертники мы с вами, потому что каждый грех, каждая страсть воняет, смердит тлением, распадом и смертью.
We are the condemned people, because every sin, every passion stinks, it stinks of decay, decay and death.
А каждая святоевангельская добродетель, святость благоухает Божией благодатью.
And every holy word of virtue, holiness, smells of God's grace.
Сегодня мы с вами осиротели.Today we have orphaned you.И это не оттого, что Матушка Игумения Серафима перешла в Вечность.
And this is not because Mother Abbess Seraphima has passed into Eternity.
Мы осиротели, потому что слишком глубоко погрязли в земной персти, не можем преодолеть собственную мелочность, двоедушие, малодушие, маловерие.
We are orphaned, because we are too deeply mired in the earth's confusion, we can not overcome our pettiness, our self-centeredness, our cowardice, and our lack of faith.
Да, мы скорбим, мы горюем.
Yes, we mourn, we grieve.
О чем?About what?
Чаще всего о наших личных трудностях, невзгодах, испытаниях и скорбях.
Most often about our personal difficulties, tribulations, trials and sorrows.
И в своей скорби мы эгоцентричны, и это обрекает нас на еще более глубокую, еще более тяжелую скорбь.
And in our sorrow we are self-centered, and this condemns us to an even deeper, even more grievous affliction.
Совсем иная скорбь и боль у таких людей, как Матушка Серафима.
But there is a very different grief and pain for people like Mother Seraphima.
При ее простой, сильной и чистой вере у нее было исключительно тонкое чутье, тонкое понимание искажения православной истины.
With her simple, strong and pure faith, she had an exceptionally subtle flair, a subtle understanding of the distortion of Orthodox truth.
Она исключительно тонко улавливала любые отклонения от здоровой православной духовной жизни.
She was exceptionally subtle in her understanding about any deviations from a healthy Orthodox spiritual life.
И она страдала и скорбела о Церкви, о Христовой Невесте, которая сегодня оказывается так жестоко распинаемой, терзаемой, как будто мы осязательно ощущаем, как зловеще ломятся врата адовы, чтобы стереть с лица земли Единую Святую Соборную и Апостольскую Церковь.
And she suffered and mourned for the Church, for Christ's Bride, which today turns out to be so cruelly crucified, tormented, as if we feel the ominous breakdown of the gates of hell to wipe out the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church from the face of the earth.
Матушка жила болью Церкви.
Our mother lived in the pain of the Church.
Она ощущала эту боль так глубоко, что мы с вами даже не можем себе представить.
She felt this pain so deeply so that we can not even imagine it.
Это правда, мы осиротели, потому что не стали обиталищем Пресвятой Троицы, не стали обиталищем чистых заветов святых людей, подобных Матушке Серафиме.
It is true, we are orphaned, because we have not become the abode of the Most Holy Trinity, we have not become the abode of pure covenants of those holy people like Mother Seraphima.
Но другого пути у нас нет!
But we have no other way!
Нет средней дороги!
There is no middle road!
Мы или останемся верными, или ... случится нечто иное, о чем я не хотел бы даже упоминать.
We will either remain faithful, or ... something else will happen that I would not even like to mention.
Вы догадываетесь, что это – разруха, разъединение, противопоставление, распад.
We realize that this is matter is about our destruction, our separation, and opposition, and disintegration.
Да сохранит нас от этого милостивый Спаситель наш, Глава небесной и земной Церкви Господь Иисус Христос по молитвам Своей Пречистой Матери, всех Своих святых и Матушки Игумении Серафимы!
+MAY our merciful Savior save us from this, He the Head of the heavenly and earthly Church, our Lord Jesus Christ, through the prayers of His Most Pure Mother, of all His saints and Mother Abbess Seraphima!Аминь.Amen.
