June 26, 2016
Dear brothers and sisters, we offer you this announcement of upcoming events at our spiritual center.
June
29-30, 2016 Mountain View will host, participants in a theological
conference, organized by our sister Church the Greek Orthodox Church.
The conference will be chaired by the Greek Metropolitan of All America
Demetrios, and in attendance will be bishops and clergy from all over
North America. The aim of the conference is to discuss various aspects
of the life of the Orthodox Church on the North American continent and
discussing ways in which to increase spiritual life of the Church, whose
main objective is to save human souls for eternity.
Guests
of the conference, after its completion, will delight us in fraternal
communion a few more days at Mountain View. On July 2, the feast day of
St. John of Shanghai and San Francisco the miracle worker, will be the
official opening of St. John Monastery located not far from our
spiritual center in Cobleskill.
All
are welcome to take part in this historic event and share the spiritual
joy of our sister church, taking part in a solemn feastday!
July
16-17, 2016 all are invited to participate in the liturgy celebrating
the blessed memory of the Holy Royal Martyrs: Tsar Nicholas ll , Tsarina
Alexandra, Tsarevich Alexis and princesses Olga, Tatiana, Maria and
Anastasia. The royal family willingly accepted a martyr’s end, as we all
know, and they stand as the head of the Holy New Martyrs and Confessors
of Russia and it happens to be the feastday of our spiritual center at
Mountainview. The service will be headed by our ruling bishop,
Archbishop Andronik.
On the day of
their memory, we'll talk about what a high example of Christian life the
Holy Royal Martyrs were. Recall that the royal family, in addition to
the love of God, showed us a high example of love and service to others,
and mutual love amonst their family. The heart of every Russian cannot
remain indifferent to the life and deeds of the Holy Family!
From
the 5 to th 7 of August 2016 our annual Orthodox Family Conference will
take place at our spiritual center of Mountain View. As usual, we will
gather with the participation of priests from our diocese to discuss
topical issues of life on spirituality and family life, to share
experiences and just spend time in pleasant conversation and prayer
together with spiritually like-minded people.
