MP tries to take ROCOR parishes in Argentina

The Moscow Patriarchate is trying to take away ROCOR parishes in Argentina.

Part of the property of the ROCOR in Argentina - the Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh and three other churches - belong to the Congregation registered by the Argentine authorities (in South America only Catholics are registered with the name "church"). In total, the Congregation consists of 26 legally elected (at a general meeting), members - all of them are parishioners of our Church, and only 1 - Bishop of the ROCOR MP John Berzins - does not belong to our Church (he was included among the members of the Congregation by order of the Argentine authorities, as chairman Congregation, instead of the late chairman Archpriest Vladimir Skalon - the only priest in Argentina who transferred to the MP). John Berzins ordered the convening of a general meeting of the Congregation (he has the right as chairman), and appointed a meeting on Sunday, October 29, on the territory of his church (Cathedral of the Resurrection in Buenos Aires), about which the members of the Congregation were notified.

On October 29, Sunday, when our parishioners, members of the Congregation, came to the meeting (a total of 16 people - who could not come - transferred their votes by proxy), they were simply not allowed in (!). There were police and four hired private security guards at the entrance. Two women, justice inspectors invited by Berzins from the authorities, were allowed inside. After being inside for some time, they acted as intermediaries - having received information inside the room, they conveyed it to those standing outside and brought back the answers. In particular, they reported that John Berzins, who is inside, does not recognize the rights of membership in the Congregation of those standing outside (parishioners of the ROCOR) - they, allegedly, are not parishioners, since they do not recognize John Berzins. As a result, after an hour and a half of standing, the inspector who came out stated that even if the parishioners of the ROCOR recognize the rights of the Chairman of the Congregation given by Argentine law to Ioann Berzins, Berzins himself does not recognize them as members of the Congregation, since they are not parishioners of the Moscow Patriarchate (the temple where he serves), and therefore, they do not have the right to vote. Members of the Congregation stated that this was not in accordance with the Constitution of the Congregation. The inspector said that it was not for her to decide - her job was only to attend the meeting, following her own instructions, and the final decision would then be made by the head of justice.

At the request of the representatives of justice, our parishioners gave them for safekeeping the Book with the registration of members of the Congregation. The inspector said that she would report everything to her superiors and said that our parishioners could submit a letter of protest that they were not accepted and were not allowed into the Congregation meeting. As the inspector promised, the authorities will carefully consider everything.

What happened inside, where there were quite a lot of people, and what actions Berzins took, is unknown - representatives of the “other side” did not communicate with our parishioners.

Initially, one of the main tasks of the MP was the destruction of the Catacomb Church in the USSR. Nowadays they no longer remember the Catacomb Church. Nowadays, in addition to other “hellish work,” the MP is engaged in the ROCOR. It is quite possible that in 10-20 years everyone will also forget about ROCOR - its entire past and all its hierarchs will become the property of the MP. It turns out that rewriting history in our “evil times” is not at all difficult.
