From November 7/20 to November 8/21, on the day of the feast of the Archangel Michael of God and other disembodied Heavenly Powers, a conciliar service of the clergy of the Odessa Diocese of the ROCOR was held in Odessa. The service was led by the Ruling Bishop, Metropolitan Agafangel. All those who arrived (including the nuns of the St. John's Convent) confessed and received Holy Communion of Christ. After the Divine Liturgy and a common meal, a general meeting of the clergy of the diocese took place.

At the meeting, the priests shared events from the life of their parishes during the ongoing war in Ukraine. Everyone agreed that these days we need to pray especially and every day for the Orthodox soldiers, the defenders of Ukraine. Metropolitan Agafangel has compiled a special prayer service for our defenders, which will be read in every parish of the Odessa diocese. The following Resolution was also adopted:

     Due to the fact that there is a war on the territory of Ukraine and there are war-related difficulties in movement, and these difficulties are increasing every day, so it is definitely unknown whether in the future it will be possible to hold diocesan assemblies in Ukraine

Resolved: If it is impossible for representatives of a particular parish to attend a meeting, contact them via the Internet during the meeting and/or send them a short report on the life of their parish. Find an opportunity to create a website for the Odessa Diocese of the ROCOR.

Parish priests and parishioners should try to support each other prayerfully and visit neighboring parishes, especially on patronal feast days.
