GEORGIA

On the feast of the Entry into the Temple of the Most Holy Theotokos, ROCOR priest Archpriest Sergiy Begashov took part in the celebrations on the occasion of the arrival of Metropolitan Cyprian of Oropos and Philia (CPI /GOC of Greece) to the city of Tbilisi, GEORGIA.  The All-Night Vigil and Liturgy were celebrated in the Cathedral of the Iberian Icon of the Mother of God, Gldani district, with an abundant gathering of worshipers. The communicants were given the sacrament via two chalices. All the priests serving in Georgia arrived at the service: Archimandrite Gregory, Archpriest Vasily (rector), Priest Vakhtang, Hieromonk Alexy, Priest George, and Deacon Andrei. At the sermon, Vladyka Cyprian recalled the need to follow true Orthodoxy, to remain faithful to the testaments of the holy Councils and The Holy Fathers of the Church. Renounce the ecumenical heresy, as well as the New Calendar.

Vladyka did not bypass the topic of the war in Ukraine. He said that all the bishops of Greece are praying for the speedy establishment of peace on Ukrainian soil, and he also called on everyone to pray to the Mother of God for this. But, he added, we all must remember that our true final eternal home is in Heaven and the inheritance of Eternal Life there, can only be attained if we Orthodox Christians are faithful, HERE,  to Christ and His Church.

After the service, a common trapeza meal was served for all,  at which Vl. Cyprian asked Fr. Sergius with his family to sing some of the hymns, in Church Slavonic,  of the Russian Church. At his request, the troparion to the Cross, and the "Rejoice Oh Virgin Mother of God", and the  festal troparion  to the  Entry Into The Temple Of The Mother of God, were performed,. And also the troparion to St. John the Warrior and the kontakion "Outside of Thee I Have No Other Help". In addition, after well-wishes to the Metropolitan and all the faithful children of Georgia, were expressed, then the Many Years/MNOGAYA LETA!  was sung three times in the Church Slavonic language.

At the end of the meal, the clergy, monastics and some of the clergy were photographed with the bishop for the historical chronicle.

Divine services on the feast of the Entry into the Church of the Most Holy Theotokos, in the Church of the Intercession/Pokrov  of the Mother of God were served by the rector, ROCOR Priest Nebojsha Mirkovich.

The Divine Liturgy at the ROCOR Church of the Intercession/Pokrov (much renovated since it was bombed earlier at the start of Putin’s war and invasion of Ukraine,  ON FORGIVENESS SUNDAY!, THE START OF OUR ORTHODOX GREAT LENT!
