A rare event in our region was revived.
В России храмы растут как грибы, но чаще всего на государственные деньги.
In Russia, churches grow like mushrooms, but more often with public money.
Не то дело в наших гонимых общинах, где кто как может, своими руками, в поте лица своего, воздвигает храмы Божии.
It's not the case in our persecuted communities, where as best they can, with their own hands, the faithful build the temples of God with the sweat of their brow.
Соперничать с '' гос-храмами '' не приходится, зато у таких '' самодельных '' храмов несравнимаядуховная цена, и какое утешение в них молиться !
It is not necessary to compete with "state temples" , , but such "homemade" churches have an incomparable spiritual value, and what a consolation it is for us to pray in them!
Такую радость испытали мы вчера в пригороде Гренобля в ста километрах от Лиона, в прямо райском уголке, в самом подножье величественных альповских гор, где, на своём участке, наш собрат из греческой ИПЦ, отец Георгий Мандаропулос, построил не храм, а чудную уютную часовню общими семейными силами, главным образом с помощью сына иподиакона Фомы, но и с участием друзей из Лиона, в частности сына протодиакона Евгения Дорошина, Матфея, приезжавшего помогать в самые деликатные моменты стройки.
We had such a joy yesterday in the suburbs of Grenoble, France, a hundred kilometers from Lyon, in a paradisiacal corner of France, at the very foot of the majestic Alps mountains, where, on our home location, our brother from the Greek GOC, Father George Mandaropoulos, built not a temple, but a wonderful cozy chapel with his fellow family forces, mainly with the help of the son of Subdeacon Thomas, but also with the participation of friends from Lyon, in particular the son of Protodeacon Eugene Doroshin, Matthew, who came to help them at the most difficult moments of their construction efforts.
В вознаграждение всем этим усилиям в субботу прибыл, широко известный во всей православной диаспоре, Преосвященный Амвросий, Епископ Мефонский, совершивший малое освящение часовни и возглавив воскресную Божественную Литургию.
In reward for all of these efforts, on Saturday there arrived, the widely known throughout the entire Orthodox diaspora, His Eminence Ambrose (Baird), Bishop of Methoni, Greece, who performed the sacred rite of the Small Consecration of the chapel and he also lead the Sunday Divine Liturgy.
По случаю этого местного торжества было заблаговременно решено, в виде исключения, закрыть храм и отменить службу в Лионе, с тем чтобы всё наше духовенство, и желающие прихожане, могли разделить радость наших греческих братьев.
On the occasion of this local celebration, it was decided in advance, as an exception, to close the temple and cancel the service in Lyon, so that all our Lyon ROCA clergy and the parishioners could share in the joy of our Greek brothers.
Всего собралось без малого пятьдесят человек в особо радостной и духовной обстановке.
In total, almost fifty people gathered together, in a particularly joyful and spiritual atmosphere.
Удивительный человек, пастырь, архипастырь, неутомимый Владыка Амвросий.
An amazing man, a pastor, an archpastor, is tireless Vladyka Ambrose.

...the Holy Martyr King Edward, where he performed three Great Skema monastic tonsures, and from there directly he came to us in France.
Вл. Vl. Амвросий может говорить на восьми языках, свободно владеет пятью языками, а для нас особо важно, что свободно говорит и служит и по-французски и по-русски.
Vladyka Ambrose can speak eight languages, he is fluent in five languages, and for us it is especially important that he speaks and communicates fluently in French and Russian.

He is the ruling bishop in distant Australia, in Western Europe, and in South Ossetia, where he recently experienced serious trouble from the state authorities under the pressure of the Moscow Patriarchate, who can not bear to see the whole of South Ossetia under the omophorion of a Greek Old-Calendar bishop, and who also, is much beloved by his flock!
Но самое удивительное, и чем он может заслужить звание апостола, это та невероятная миссия, которую он развил в Африке, на нетронутой доселе земле, в Конго и в Кении.
But the most amazing thing, and why he deserves the title of apostle, is that incredible mission which he has developed in Africa, on untouched land, in the Congo and in Kenya.
Подумать — в Конго у него сорок двасвященника , в Кении восемнадцать, не сосчитать сколько монахинь и монахов, школы православные !
To think! :- in the Congo he has forty-two priests , in Kenya eighteen, and not to count how many nuns and monks, and Orthodox schools!
Миссия epi-scopos ' а — быть '' над-зирателем ''над вверенной ему территорией, а миссияapostolos ' а, т. е. посланника — сеять и насаждать Церковь Христову по всему свету, на нетронутых территориях, над которыми будут затем надзирать поставляемые епископы.
The mission of episcopos is to be a "supporter" [an 'overseer'] over the territory entrusted to him, and which is the mission of apostolos , that is, the messenger, who is to sow and plant the Church of Christ all over the world, in untouched areas, which will then be supervised by and supplied ['nourished'] by their bishops.
Так вот — не является ли Епископ Амвросий настоящим апостолом в этих африканских странах, подобно тому, как апостол Марк считается апостолом Египта, основав там Церковь Христову, святой Фома апостол Индии, и т. д. ?

'' Nicholas summer '', the [secondary feast of St. Nicholas] "The Transfer of His Holy Relics from Myra in Licea, to Bari, Italy", and besides that fact, that Vladyka's airplane was expected on Tuesday the 22nd, after lunch, with him arriving at the Lyon airport!

Metropolitan Agathangel, willingly and joyfully gave his blessing, fore this ROCA/GOC joint worship, and so we then turned to Vl. Ambrose...................
Амвросию, предложив ему приехать в Лион отпраздновать память покровителя нашего храма......
... inviting him to come to Lyon to celebrate with us, the memory of the patron of our church, St. Nicholas.
Владыка с радостью принял наше приглашение послужить у нас в Лионе, в храме о котором он уже давно слышал, но где никогда ещё не бывал и не служил.
Vladika Ambrose gladly accepted our invitation to serve with us in Lyon, in our temple of St. Nicholas, which he had long heard about, but where he had never been and never previously served.
Хотя мы справляем наш храмовой праздник в декабре, мы всегда отмечаем '' летнего Николая '',но в куда более скромной обстановке.
Although we celebrate our temple's St. Nicholas altar-feast in December, the saint's main feastday, we always celebrate also, the "summer Nicholas", but in a much more modest way.
И тут пригласив Архиерея служить на неделе, а в неправославной стране очень трудно собрать молящихся в рабочие дни, боялись как бы не оскандалиться перед великим гостем.
And then. our other concern: inviting Bishop Ambrose to serve in a work- week, and in a non-Orthodox country, it is very difficult to gather the faithful for prayers in church on working days, which would make us fearful to seem to not properly honour such a great bishop-guest, by a poor attendance.
Чудо, признаться, не произошло, но тем не менее, для заграничных условий молящихся собралось вполне удовлетворительно, особенно хор был в достаточном составе для проведения архиерейского богослужения и празднования великого святителя.
A miracle, I confess, did not happen, but nevertheless, for the foreign conditions of the worship and celebrations, it was quite satisfactory, especially as the choir was in sufficient composition for singing for also for a bishop's service and for properly celebrating our great saint.
Наши милые друзья Греки, в свою очередь, приехали к нам в Лион разделить с нами праздник.
Our dear Greek friends, in turn, came together with us in Lyon to share the holiday with us.
Литургия закончилась молебным с крестным ходом вокруг храма, были пропеты многолетствия Митрополиту Агафангелу, Архиепископу Каллинику и Епископу Амвросию, который, на идеальном французском языке, произнёс очень содержательную и духовную проповедь о святости.
The liturgy ended with a molieben/prayer service with the cross-procession around the temple, and as honoring Metropolitan Agathangel, Archbishop Kallinikos and Bishop Ambrose, who, in perfect French, delivered a very meaningful and spiritual sermon on holiness.
Сам Владыка имел счастье в своей жизни общаться с двумя святыми : с нашим святителем Филаретом и особенно с румынским святителем Гликерием, с удивительным житием которого он нас ознакомил.
Vladyka Ambrose himself was fortunate in his life to personally have communicated with two living saints: with our Saint Philaret of New York, and especially with the Romanian prelate St. Glycerius, with whose amazing life he acquainted us.
Владыка видимо остался довольным своим пребыванием и служением в Гренобле и в Лионе и благополучно покинул Францию.
Vladyka Ambrose apparently remained satisfied with his stay and service in Grenoble and Lyon and he safely left France.
На следующий день ожидает его уже заседание архиерейского Синода в Греции и, по всей вероятности, снова ряд архипастырских путешествий по всему свету.
The next day, he was awaited by the meeting of his GOC Synod of Bishops in Greece and, in all likelihood, after that meeting, again he began a series of archpastoral travels around the world.

Отнюдь не на государственные (ибо у нас нет государства , а есть коррупционная пирамида) , но скорее на отнятые у населения деньги.
Far from being public (for we do not have a state, but there is a corruption pyramid), but rather from the monies taken away from the population.
