A General Sharing: North American ROCA: (with Photo Album): Youth Conference at Mountain View, New York

Dan Everiss Mon, Feb 22, 2016 at 10:41 PM Found on: <http://www.rocana.org> February 22, 2016 Youth Conference at Mountainview The Russian Orthodox Youth Conference took place at Mountainview February 12-15, 2016.  Not only were there special guest speakers from South America and Russia, but the Myrrh-Streaming Icon of St. Nicholas blessed the conference.  During a round table question and answer session with diocesan and guest clergy, a question was posed: "why do we pray to icons..." - the answer to the question was most resoundingly answered not by words, but by the miracle of St. Nicholas showing all that could see that the lectern-vestment, upon which the icon lay, was saturated in Myrrh.  Along with spiritual discussions, the youth were able to participate in other activities such as skiing.  On Monday, Feburary 15, the feast of the Meeting of our Lord was celebrated with the service of the Divine Liturgy led by Archbishop Andronik, and Fr. John Mahan,  along with our dear guests from the Greek Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Demetrius and clergy.  See photos here.
