Bad fruits of 2007 Laurus Shkurla's Betrayal to MP- From honest ROCOR Florida witnessInbox |
|
CORRRECTION of the incomplete story and ERRORS of reporting in this originalRussian News-agency's article, from a ROCOR personal witness to people and events in Florida, with the troubled ROCOR/MP's new-Russian émigré's parish of St. Matrona of Moscow, near Miami, Florida which has recently fled to the EP jurisdiction....and the true central motivating causes for this church and spiritual chaos.
SUBJECT: Regarding the current chaos in the ROCOR/MP's Florida parish of St. Matrona of Moscow & its causes, etc.
This is in regards to the current scandals and chaos of the ROCOR/MP's Miami, Florida parish of "St. Matrona of Moscow", (which large member parish has just fled ROCOR/MP and been accepted into the New Calendar EP Greek- American Archdiocese, which is under Pat. Bartholomew,)a large parish of mostly newly arrived and very fervently religious, Soviet-era Russian immigrants, with critical insights from a long time resident of Florida, who is also a long time clergy/or lay member of the old-ROCOR....whose name I cannot make public. In his revealing remarks to me, -which are his reply/CORRECTION to my recent posting of that (Russian news-agency's) article about that parish, and about which I just have made my posted commentary on, he spells out the basic truths of that sorry situation, and what are the main fundamental causes....i.e. money-hungry unspiritual crooked soviet clergy!
He is a witness to much of this.
What is his correction/how am I 'wrong'?/etc.: about my comments on the article that goes with them?
He blames the dishonest and money-hungry 'scamming' crooked corrupt SOVIET-PRIESTS, and he states that the scandals there, -THEY have caused, but his main point is that this is all the EXPECTED! bad fruit of the 2007 betrayal of a large part of our old free ROCOR (now under Met. Hillarion-Kapral), and the fact that they welcome 'willy-nilly' into this country, AND INTO THEIR CHURCHES! many many of these MP trained soviet-fraud-false priests, (and are not virtually all of them to some degree or another also KREMLIN-agents, part of Putin's push for his "Russian World"?...I would add)...AND so: they-ROCOR/MP ..DESERVE! the chaos and destruction which they cause, etc.
However, do the simple believers also "deserve" such soviet-priestly-caused chaos? I think not.
But, because of this clergy-caused parish-wrecking, money & property robbing, he and apparently, with himself, a number of other old-ROCOR long-time members in Florida, have NO PARISH to go to or to belong in..
To my mind, however, I do not believe that the large mass of the common sincere simple new Russian emigree believers there.. or anywhere, 'deserve' such evil false priests- BUT they are burdened with them, by the leadership of both the corrupt MP-directly in Russia and Ukraine, & around the world, ..and by the MP's proxy-puppet-church here, fallen from grace and Orthodoxy, in 2007, the also corrupt, ROCOR-MP under Hillarion-Kapral, and gang.
SO, all that those simple Florida new-Russian emigree parishioners could do, in their extreme agitation and spiritual suffering, has been to flee Hillarion-Kapral's ROCOR/MP (and Hillarion Kapral has done nothing to help that parish family), and run for refuge and for peace in their parish life, to (heretical and apostate) Ecumenical Pat. Bartholomew's omophore, and to thus unite with his American New Calendar Greek Archdiocese. But that Russian parish will be given a 'special exemption', and be 'permitted to keep Church Slavonic and the Old Calendar'!
But the corrupt and money-grubbing 'scammer' soviet-produced-priests are still engaged in their corrupt pursuits, here in free-America.
That is about the approximate disgusting summation of this revolting matter, which sad situation is, however, but a few of the MANY very bad & toxic spiritual and material bad fruits of that Met. Laurus Shkurla's 2007 betrayal to the communist-controlled, Stalin founded in 1943, utterly-uncanonical and apostate, Sergianist- "Moscow Patriarchy".
BAD TREES PRODUCE BAD FRUITS!...'what a surprise!'😳👀

Sorry brother but you are 10000000000 % wrong on this. This priest, his younger brother, and possibly their father (another clergyman in ROCOR-MP), are nothing but scammers, low life MP style priests, who are full of greed, pride, and ambition. I may write a longer commentary later on, but I don't feel sorry for anyone: this is just a consequence of the 2007 union, where dubious characters have been welcomed by ROCOR en masse simply because they come from the MP with all the right recommendations and lots of wrongly gotten funds. Met. Hilarion and co. got what they deserve, as they turned their backs on their own people and brought in all of this soviet scum.

Like I wrote, there is more to this story, but since I am not actively involved in the life of ROCOR-MP I don't know more specific details (I could ask, but this is more than enough). As for jurisdictions, nobody wants to come here, nobody wants to do anything in this area, everything is concentrated in the northern areas. I have had many chances to rise even higher than the now disgraced Alexander, but I understand I am not worthy, and that God's blessings come when He wants, not when we choose.

So, I have to compose this new email reply-
Please relate to me, your big picture of the people and events there.
But keep in mind, that I did not compose the original news article about Miami.
My remarks are only my general knowledge about the 2007 betrayal, and matters in the OCA and ROCOR/MP, etc.
What I shared were simply my comments …..on this article, and the dirt I am directly and indirectly familiar with, in my many long years as an Orthodox Christian.
So, please send me your fuller picture of the people and events there, and I will share it around, with or without your name to it.... if you wish.
Are you saying that I am too soft or too sympathetic on the people and priest there?
Believe me, I am very very bitter and disgusted with that betrayal in 2007, and the earlier one of 1970 of my old Metropolia.
But please give me you input.
Thanks!
And how is your health?
Daniel in the forest

I wouldn't mind being public, but don't want to get into a legal battle with these people.
Facts:
Archpriest Alexander/Oleksandr (Ukrainian) Belya in NY has two sons, Archimandrite Alexander/Oleksandr (Ukrainian) Belya in Miami, and a younger brother, Ivan Belya. Ivan Belya was a seminarian in Jordanville around 2004-2008 (I believe he graduated at that time). Even though it is from a now deceased third party (a Jordanville monastic), Ivan was known to take advantage of the monks and take money, gifts, and extort same if necessary. Somehow he graduated and moved away from the area. Around the same time his father and brother appeared in the picture - they all come from Ukraine and have many contacts both there and in the Czech and Polish Churches (the father was the secretary of a local cathedral within the UOC-MP).It is my understanding that both father and son had been under the UOC-MP, and possibly the Czech and Slovak Church as well (junior was there for a while). Probably looking for a green card and US citizenship, the older Belyas moved to the US around 2011 or later on - the younger son had already graduated from Jordanville in 2008. Within a few years, Alexander senior became the dean of one of the newly created deaneries in the NY area (Brooklyn)/ROCOR Eastern American diocese, and his parish was raised to the rank of cathedral. During this time, Alexander junior appeared in Florida, setting up shop in a strip mall in the city of Hallandale, about 20 miles north of Miami. This is an area that was known, along with Miami Beach, to have a significant number of Russian Jews up to the 90s, many of which were replaced by new comers, soviet born Russians (such as the Belya family). The 30 year old archimandrite (something unheard of in the traditional Russian Church, but common in the MP), gathered lots of the new comers and took parishioners from the St Vladimir parish in Miami - an old style, ROCOR stronghold in Miami since the 1930s and earlier (my former parish). For many years St Vladimir was the only ROCOR parish in the east coast of Florida, until little communities showed up all over, mainly after 2005-2007. Belya jr became successful in collecting relics, parishioners, and funds. His ambition was and is still great, so he had arguments with some people, a little group breaking off and forming a short lived mission of St. Michael the Archangel in the same area of Hallandale (in the same place where he had been before, for a time under ROCOR-MP, then the OCA). Prior to the internal schism, junior and his vicious brother Ivan (the warden/starosta of both his father and brother's parishes, one in NY and another one in FL, go figure!), purchased a former Protestant church in the town of Dania Beach, close to Ft. Lauderdale, FL (south of the airport in the same city). This is a fairly large building (I knew it when it used to be a Protestant church), in an ok area of the city. Long story short they brought everything from the strip mall mission to this church, and made big shows with bishops from Ukraine, Romania, Slovakia, and Russia, regularly participating in divine services. This newly found parish was raised to the rank of cathedral right away, and Alexander jr became the dean of Florida, at the same time his father became dean in Brooklyn (his church also being raised to the rank of cathedral, as previously explained). Not being content with double pectoral crosses, miters, staff, and the whole 9 yards, the Belyas set up another scam to take over an old style monastery in the west coast of Florida. The St. Nicholas Monastery had originally been an old calendar monastery in the city of West Palm Beach around the 1970s-80s (under the protection of the Icon of the Mother of God Joy of All Who Sorrow). Supposedly it had been founded with the blessing of Met. Philaret of ROCOR, by Fr. John Lewis. Sometime in the 1980s it became an old calendar Greek monastery, and moved to the west coast to the town of North Ft. Myers (here it took the name St. Nicholas, it also used to be under one of the Ukrainian churches, if I am not mistaken). Fr. John died around 2007, leaving the monastery, its great library, and all the property and money, to a nun, mother Andrea (well known in ROCOR and in the old calendar jurisdictions, ask those people who used to be in Jordanville about the nun who lived on her own in the mountains). I believe that Fr. John returned to ROCOR before he died, but the last rites were given by either a Serbian or new calendar Greek priest (I am pretty sure it was the local Serbian priest). The other monk who used to live with him in West Palm Beach is now under the Antiochian Church, somewhere in the Midwest. Mother Andrea had a couple of nuns, but after they died she all of the sudden ceded the monastery and all the relics and properties to Belya jr (to the horror of anyone who cares about Orthodoxy). Soon after Archimandrite Alexander was named the abbot of the monastery, and soviet born clergy were assigned to it (Ft. Myers is about 2 hours + west of Miami). Mother Andrea is in the Carolinas now, not sure where. Aiming higher than the sun, jr decided to scam ROCOR once again. This issue is not very clear, but according to clergy from ROCOR, the OCA, the Antiochian Church, and the MP, Alexander jr and his brother Ivan sent to the Synod in Moscow a fake letter that stated that the ROCOR synod had elected him to the episcopacy, with the title of bishop of Miami (neither the St Matrona parish or the St. Nicholas monastery are in that area). The MP synod didn't investigate, and along with the other, real candidacy of Fr. James Corazza from California, they approved Alexander jr's candidacy. This came up as a surprise to ROCOR when it was published on the MP website, as allegedly nobody had submitted his election to the episcopacy. Alexander was suspended (no cassock, no ability to give blessings, no cross, cannot serve), relieved from his deanship of Florida, replaced as superior of St. Nicholas, and as rector of St. Matrona, and his name was permanently removed from any potential candidacy to the episcopacy in ROCOR. His brother Ivan was excommunicated, and relieved of his duties as starosta/warden of his father and brother's churches; he was also banned from participating in church services in the rank of reader. These two scumbags are too smart, and had set up Florida corporations where they are either the president or VP of the corporations, effectively owning both the parish and the monastery (Alexander jr is the President of the monastery corporation, his brother Ivan is the VP, while in St Matrona and another corporation that owns other property they switched roles). Due to them being excommunicated/suspended, with no luck to move forward in ecclesiastical careers (not only they made the ROCOR synod look like fools, but they tricked patriarch Kirill and his cronies, big sin!), they jumped jurisdiction to the EP, which is more than happy to create trouble for the Russians. They threw ROCOR's investigative commission and the other assigned soviet clergy out of the properties by force, with the help of armed security/hooligans. There is more to this story, but it is exhausting to write all of this. All the information can be easily checked online (both in English and in Russian) and is no gossip, but my information comes either from first hand knowledge or from the facts given to me by clergy in other jurisdictions. This is just another example of what ROCOR earned by joining with the MP: career criminals taking away our churches.

Wow! So are you even still Orthodox now?...and if so, in what jurisdiction?
I entered Orthodoxy in June of 1961, and from that time onward, I could write my own tale of woes and disappointments, and...never really, FINDING MY NICHE ANYWHERE.
so, I TOO COULD WRITE A WHOLE BOOK LENGTH RECORD OF MY LIFE...BUT who? WOULD WANT TO READ IT??? ...and no one would believe it.
What I have learned however, is that God has been watching over me since my early childhood, and He has not wanted me to belong or be comfortable or welcomed, anywhere.
He and the Virgin Mary lead me from Protestantism into Orthodoxy starting at age 16.
I am a lone eunuch and a wayfarer on this earth, a pelican of the desert, seeking my home in that far away city on high, the New Jerusalem.
Some locals refer to me as: "Dan is just a hills-hermit".
On this earth, no-where, have I truly been at home. In this dark Oregon forest is the closest.
Now I am in my own end period of my 76 years earthly sojourn, the crucifixion of decrepit old age, and the main task for me, is to try to get ready for my passage.
I feel my mortality. And too, I see the utter futility of our human pursuits: "Vanity of vanities, and all is vanity!" sums up my own outlook.
All's that matters are our immortal souls. Everything of this earth, perishes...even of course our very pampered bodies. We come into this sorry world, naked, and we leave it naked.
So all that I can hope to accomplish on this computer is to...hopefully wake up some people, so that they turn away from this age of lies, corruption and slander, betrayal and apostasy...but only then, if God wills.
And I feel that soon, there will be world-wide nuclear war, and much of the earth's population will die. Then all national prides and human folly will perish too.
As some one said: "When all else is gone, there only remains GOD!"
But, if you want me to share what you recollect here, let me know. But perhaps your real name should not appear with it, for your own peace. You are telling the truth...and these days most people do not want to hear theunpleasant truth- if it does not comport with what they already imagine.
So far, on the internet, we get only a very garbled story of people and events down there. None of it makes any sense. One has to ask oneself after trying to make sense of it all: "But who are the good guys there, and who are the bad guys?"...who is in the right, and who is in the wrong?- etc.
Your telling of it, makes clear that there seems to be virtually no totally innocent ones, but only various degrees of tainted and/or used/mislead fooled ones.
As far as I know, virtually no one who is not in your area, knows anything of what particulars you relate to me here. But what you share, does resonant with what tons of scandalous church-garbage I already have known about, of the sad state of Orthodoxy, here and elsewhere.
May Christ Our True God preserve us, and save us, now and unto the ages of ages, Amen!
Daniel in the forest, more comfortable with the bears and God's innocent other creatures, than with human society.
"Even-so, Come Quickly Lord Jesus, Come Quickly!"

LITTLE PHILARET: ROCOR ARCHIMANDRITE LEAVES FOR CONSTANTINOPLE AFTER BEING PASSED OVER FOR BISHOP
Miami, October 18, 2019
The Eastern American Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia issued a sorrowful statement on Wednesday, “informing the hierarchs of the Canonical Churches of the Eastern Seaboard of the United States, their clergymen and faithful” that Archimandrite Alexander (Belya), a cleric of the diocese, “betraying the trust and love of his archpastors, led the Cathedral of Blessed Matrona of Moscow in Dania Beach, FL, and St. Nicholas Monastery in North Fort Myers, FL, out of the structure of the canonical authority of the Russian Orthodox Church.”
The open letter notes that Belya was suspended from his priestly duties but refused to submit to his ruling hierarch and that he and his younger brother Ivan Belya, who is forbidden to commune, have ignored summons to be questioned by a diocesan investigative committee.
Fr. Alexander was suspended from priestly duties on September 1/14, released as dean of the Florida Deanery of the diocese, and suspended from his duties as rector of the cathedral and monastery for the duration of the investigation. Ivan was suspended from Holy Communion at the same time and suspended from his duties as warden at the ROCOR cathedrals in Brooklyn and Miami.
The investigation against the Belyas began when Archimandrite Alexander managed to get his name sent to Moscow as a nominee for vicar bishop of Miami in ROCOR, despite the fact that he had not been nominated. Elections to the episcopate for ROCOR must be confirmed by the Holy Synod in Moscow, and the matter caused no small amount of confusion when the Synod met on August 30 to confirm the election of Archimandrite James (Corazza) as bishop of Sonora and also had the name of Belya before them.
According to sources in ROCOR, this is not the first time the Belya brothers have caused problems. Fr. Alexander is known to dodge diocesan dues and bring clergy to America without the proper paperwork. Ivan has even been implicated in the trafficking of women.
Not only have the Belyas ignored summons to be questioned, but members of the investigative committee were even prevented from entering the Cathedral of St. Matrona by armed guards, “which is an unheard-of occurrence in the Orthodox community of the United States.”
Ignoring his suspension, Belya celebrated the Divine Liturgy on Sunday, October 13, commemorating Archbishop Elpidophoros of the Greek Archdiocese of America and Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople.
In his “pastoral word” preached on Sunday, October 13 and published on the sites of both the St. Matrona Cathedral and the St. Nicholas Monastery, Belya states that the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of the Patriarchate of Constantinople has taken control of the parish and he has retained the priesthood and the right to serve.
And Belya notes an interesting connection: “You and I have been granted not only the protection of the Patriarchate in which Mt. Athos is located, but also the protection of the government of the United States.”
Thus, Fr. Alexander is something like a “little Philaret” in America. “Patriarch” Philaret Denisenko also left the Russian Orthodox Church 30 years ago when he was not chosen to be the next Patriarch of Moscow. Unable to humble himself, Denisenko instead departed into schism, where he has remained to this day, despite being given canonical protection by Constantinople last year.
Offended at not being chosen as a bishop, Belya has also departed from the Russian Church, to Constantinople.
Belya begins his “pastoral word” with a seeming apology for the pain and suffering that the parish has undergone in recent weeks. “I am sorry that for the sake of me, a sinner, you had to go through a humiliating unjust interrogation,” he writes. However, it quickly becomes apparent that his “apology” is a sarcastic attack against the hierarchs of ROCOR who he attempts to paint as his persecutors.
He writes that he was in Moscow “in search of the protection of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, who blessed me this summer to become the bishop of Miami,” “But now in a situation of persecution, our second meeting did not take place,” he writes.
The cathedral and monastery websites now feature several articles about clergy being persecuted by ROCOR authorities.
All the clerics of the cathedral, where Belya was rector, and of the monastery, where he was abbot, have remained faithful to the Russian Church and refuse to participate in Belya’s services. Archimandrites Stefan (Khilchuk) and Siluan (Lembai) were forcibly removed from the monastery by the brothers Belya. Mitred Archpriest Serge Prisacaru was not allowed to bid farewell to his flock as he was ejected from the cathedral.
The Eastern American Diocese thus warns its flock of the spiritual danger Belya is placing himself in, along with any who follow him.
“All the devoted children of the Russian Church Abroad are given blessing to depart from the Cathedral of Blessed Matrona and St. Nicholas Monastery, and cease prayerful communion with the suspended Archimandrite Alexander and those with him. From the point of view of the Russian Church Abroad, the Sacraments and prayers performed there do not lead to salvation into Eternal Life,” the statement reads.
