 Finally Putin spells out his lunacy: He compares his conquest plans of other nations, in his power-motives in trying to seize Ukraine, TO THOSE of Czar Peter The Great-who, wanted to Europeanize his Russia, not make it the enemy of all Europe.

My added comments:  These delusional words by Vladimir Putin, prove that he is mentally & SPIRITUALLY  unbalanced and is  living in his  erroneous unbalanced miss-interpretations  of past supposed  glories, of other, past powerful and truly famous people, and not in the present real world. He thinks, therefore, in his grandiose power mad delusions,  (of those grand power goals which are very similar to Adolf Hitler’s delusions, who greatly admired Napoleon), that he…NOW, must, & has the DUTY to,  continue to invade and seize ANY  territories which either have always been the homelands of other tribes or nationalities, or which he construes that the Russia-of the past or present, has the right and indeed duty, to RETURN to Russian ownership:  which course of action, Of A CERTAINTY  is the formula for MORE  endless bloody destructive wars, just as such empire building in past ages, produced the endless wars of European empires, AND THEIR EVER CHANGING NATIONAL BORDERS,  which so bloodied many sad centuries of European history. However, it is time, for all European nations, Russia included, to LIVE AT PEACE WITH EACH OTHER, in Europe, to have mutually beneficial trade and cultural exchanges,…in short to become MODERN STABLE PEACEFUL DEMOCRATIC SOCIETIES. Putin’s autocratic non-free slave-state, is still in that backward soviet hangover era, where daily life  cannot get better for its average citizen, but only…to provoke more ENDLESS USELESS foreign WARS OF UN-NECESSARY , UNPROVOKED AGGRESSION: continuing the Communist’s central false-utopian plan,. For GLOBALLY CONQUERING THE WORLD.  The Post Soviet, nondemocratic,  Russian Federation is a war-mongering destructive nation, one which greatly harms, MOST OF ALL,  its unfree  own…mostly impoverished,  citizens, and because now, it has nuclear weapons, it, under mad-man Vlad Putin, can and DOES threaten the entire world. Historical figure, Czar Peter the Great, who adored many aspects…but not all, of  European culture/over various eliments of the Russian culture of his day,  is valued by some OR DEVALUED, by others, (Czar Peter did some things which are not considered the best, in his life, for the church: HE WAS NOT PERFECT!)…yet for his many real talents  and his many accomplishments, pro and con, but KGB VLADIMIR PUTIN is NO CZAR PETER! And in Czar Peter’s defense, virtually all of his war-efforts, were provoked or  caused by GENUINE foreign invasions and foreign wars, which advanced UNJUSTLY AGAINST  RUSSIA, or which were  actually preparing to, and he was merely defending Russia (as any monarch had to do in those days of empires) from its REAL foreign enemies. But that is not the current Ukraine situation with what Vlad Putin, who in his wild imagination, & Kremlin propaganda claims are “Russia’s Enemies”…e.g. As ‘Nazi-Ukraine”, “NATO”, AMERICA, THE EU, THE WEST, etc….(virtually all of which propaganda lies are “Rubbish” as one old Russian lady demonstrating against Putin’s Ukraine’s war, in the street, in Russia recently exclaimed). And  in the here and now, in the MODERN REAL WORLD, post World War II, Putin is living in his own sick and deluded imaginary fairy-tale world of the past, “The Knights of Old Days”?, but  not in reality. AND, he cares nothing for any human life, EXCEPT HIS OWN, -but least of all for young Russian boys-expendable…“cannon fodder” which he easily sends to their deaths to go and murder and be killed in his ignoble efforts of his unrealistic grandiose  SCHEMES on seizing some new territorial conquests, currently free independent Ukraine, and next, independent Poland, and next….? …THE WHOLE WORLD! 

WHAT SATANIC MADNESS!...and in comparison to pathetic soviet KGB hangover criminal henchman, Vlad Putin, the real historic & highly intelligent Czar Peter the Great had a truly self-sacrificing patriotic and NOBLE character..i.e. he had much VIRTUE, which Vlad Putin lacks entirely. But Vlad Putin, we are told, is “The Sincere Orthodox Christian, Who is the Defender of All Orthodox Christians, World-wide”?, though his life-time actions testify to his true ‘virtues’, or to the lack thereof.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday compared his actions in Ukraine to Peter the Great's conquest of the Baltic coast during his 18th-century war against Sweden.

After visiting an exhibition in Moscow dedicated to the 350th birthday of  Czar Peter the Great, Putin told a group of young Russian entrepreneurs that "you get the impression that by fighting Sweden he was grabbing something. He wasn't taking anything, he was taking it back".

When Peter the Great founded Saint Petersburg and declared it the Russian capital "none of the countries in Europe recognized this territory as belonging to Russia," Putin said.

"Everyone considered it to be part of Sweden. But from time immemorial, Slavs had lived there alongside Finno-Ugric peoples," the Russian leader added.

"It is our responsibility also to take back and strengthen," Putin said, in an apparent reference to Russia's offensive in Ukraine.

"Yes, there have been times in our country's history when we have been forced to retreat, but only to regain our strength and move forward," he said.

The defeat of Sweden in the Great Northern War (1700-1721) made Russia the leading power in the Baltic Sea and an important player in European affairs.

But with  modern Russia's and modern Europe’s mutually  constructive and valuable culteral and economic ties, beneficial to both Europe and Russia, with the West currently shattered by the Ukraine invasion, Moscow authorities are downplaying Peter's affinity-admiration  for Europe (as very unlike Putin, Czar Peter viewed  his Russia as backward and uncultured, and he admired greatly what he considered the more culturally advanced Europe, especially the Germans,)  but Putin, in comparison,  is focusing mainly  on Czar Peter’s  role in his expanding of  Russian territories by conquest….as he is also struggling to accomplish.

More than three centuries after Czar Peter  sought to bring Russia closer to Europe, Russians on Thursday marked the 350th birthday of Czar Peter the Great with the country deeply isolated from Europe and the West, over the Ukraine conflict.
