Well, I have just carefully read this article, which two people sent to me to get my opinion of it.
And I cannot disagree with most of what is stated in it, i.e. regarding the ominous governmental interference in our practice of our religious faith, etc.
Others, of course, may see these complicated matters differently.
However, I have two main reservations about this article:
1) -as to who is 'the restrainer'; as that is highly controversial and not all agree that that was Czar Nicholas II. I tend to think so, however.
But my main reservation has to do with: 2) the man who wrote this, self-important schismatic and uncanonical episcopi-vagante, "Bishop Andrei Erastov", who, together with the former-canonically consecrated bishop - & THEN, canonically-deposed Andronik Kotlaroff, & others, betrayed and stabbed in the back ... our ROCOR under Met. Agafangel, (the canonical bishop- who consecrated priest Andronik Kotlaroff a bishop!) and has been a main organizer of his divisive and harmful schism.
He has destroyed our church in Australia.
By making slander and war upon our ROCOR and our honorable Met. Agafangel, he is aiding the end times destruction and scattering of the faithful Orthodox believers. That has to be a joy to Satan.
He and his fellow schismatics are the impious dissemblers which St. Paul warns us to avoid and to flee from.
He is a self-deluded spiritual wolf, dressed as a shepherd. And, he has proven to preach concocted new-heresy....for which he was justly defrocked and removed entirely from our church. He has shown not one iota of repentance, only endless & defiant arrogant pride.
So, - though he may be correct or partially correct, in some of his interpretations of the current on-going end-times signs, (a topical subject of great and general interest throughout the Orthodox & heterodox world), his general spiritual guidance is not to be trusted. I do not fully trust anything which he says, unless I have verified it myself.
By his helping to divide the faithful, he is in fact aiding anti-Christ, and helping to bring on further, the end times.
I do not find that praiseworthy.
SHAME ON HIM!
May he repent before his soul departs his body.
So, normally I refuse to read or to widely share, anything.... which he puts out, or which emanates from his fellow co-conspirators of their pathetic "Andronik-Mt. View" schism.
Yet, here, I basically agree with his well-founded fears about the current world-wide attacks upon our Orthodox faith, using the excuse of stopping this plague, etc.
What destruction, however, that shameful and un-called-for fruitless schism, has done to our ROCOR here in North America, has basically almost totally destroyed it.
It is a deadly plague in itself!
They claim to have separated from Met. Agafangel because: THEY!... have 'dismissed him for canonical infractions and violations'!... which as of this date, I have never been able yet to discover even one of them or to verify them whatsoever!
That is a cause of great joy to the Moscow enslaved ROCOR/MP and their 'mother church' the 1943 Stalin founded MP, & its master, Putin's KGB in Moscow.
I cannot ignore or forgive that.

The only aspect connected to Mister Andrei Erastov that I believe is praiseworthy, is that he is reputed to be among the best and most talented & currently alive high quality icon painters, of Fr. Kiprian's Jordanville training, of church wall-frescoes, (especially in the Russian-Andre Rublov's general style)....outside of Russia or other Orthodox countries. He makes his living doing that, mainly, as he has previously related to me.
