Can you imagine this poor child? His mother is his grandmother and his gay father is technically his brother. This incredible situation demands new language: What does one call an act of perverse incest by scientific intervention? And what does one call a man's son, born to his father's mother, who is, as I said, technically a brother to his own father and the grandson of his surrogate mother?  Unimaginably, "Figaro's" gloss on this bizarre situation, in its introductory line, is that maternal love knows no limits! Have we all gone mad? A complete distortion of the biological order is approached in the light of maternal love! If religion were simply about the maintenance of good order and a rational view of life, stories such as this would suffice as an absolute justification of religion and the morals and standards that it upholds. If religion teaches us about how far we can stray from what we were created to be—and genuine and true religion does just that—then its message is being lost on a generation that is fast destroying the environment, that has reduced life to the lowest biological and mental pursuits (indulging the passions and having "fun"), and that is now making fathers brothers, grandmothers mothers, and thus children both offspring and siblings! I can hear even the agnostics, in the stead of God, saying, "Adam, where are you? ...Have you gone mad?" Just when I think that we must use humor, outrage, foolishness in Christ, and every device to awaken people to the silliness of their lives, I find that reality far outstrips anything that instructive humor, irony, or feigned foolishness can produce. A topos or commonplace in the Lives of the Saints is the conversions of non-believers at the execution of martyrs, ...converts who also then die for their confession of Christ.

This report from the 'Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church' about the Coptic Christians who were beheaded by ISIS last week is about a non-believer who chose to die with them, saying "Their God is my God."

If true, we have an end times echo and image from the first centuries of the Christian Era, when the Apostles, their disciples, and all the faithful faced such godlessness -- and non-believers joined the martyrs in Christ's victory over death.

What made a non believer Chadian citizen; die for Christ, along with his “20 Coptic Christian friends”?

ISIS announced the execution of 21 Copts but only 20 names were confirmed, most of them were from the province of Minya(Upper Egypt). There was an inaccuracy in the number of Egyptian Hostages; there were only 20 Egyptians(Copts). Then who was this remaining one non-Coptic victim?

Ahram-Canadian News was able to gather information about this man. He was a Chadian Citizen (Darker skin shown in picture) who accepted Christianity after seeing the immense faith of his fellow Coptic Christians to die for Christ. When Terrorist forced him to reject Jesus Christ as God, looking at his Christian friends he replied, “their God is my God“ so the terrorist beheaded him also.
Think about the faith, shining through those 20 Christians who made a non believer, a true believer in Christ, even at the point of death. In Bible, Gospel of Luke describes about two thieves, being on either side of Jesus as they were crucified. At that very point of death by Crucifixion, one of the thief accepted Christ saying, ‘LORD, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.’ Here this Chadian citizen showed the same faith in Christ.
Can we put ourselves into his place? The faith he showed was not a mean faith, at such a moment, he could believe in Jesus as Lord and King.
May God help us to strength our faith so that the world may see our good works, and glorify our Father which is in heaven. (Mathew 5:16)

3/3/2015.  Many years ago, a couple from Turkey (specifically - from the area of Antakya) moved to Paris. There they found work and settled in the suburbs of Paris, writes  Pravoslavie.ru . Their names - Esat and Sevim Aldidaroglu. 

 

In their home in Paris, you will always see many visitors not only from France but also from abroad. They all come to see the icon, called the head of the family, which is nothing less than a miracle. It is an Orthodox Icon of the Mother of God of the Byzantine period that the family had gotten while they were  in Antakya and brought with them to Paris (although they are Muslims), and it  began to weep, says Greek portal Romfea. 

 

As they the  Aldidaroglu say themselves, this icon was presented to them by a Greek Orthodox monk from Libya in 2006. As soon as they received the image, immediately they felt its great sanctity, since in their home it installed itself from some inexplicable world. When they moved to Paris, then the icon they reverently took with them. When the icon was placed in a separate room in the new house, by the testimony of the couple, it immediately began to weep. The news quickly spread not only among Turks, but also among Christians.

 

The icon of the "Most Holy Virgin," as she is called by this [Moslem] Turkish family, has  become a place of worship and a source of miracles. The news of this new miraculous image spread literally all over the world, and now there come to venerate  the Mother of God,  people even  from Germany and Belgium. 

 

Esat Adidaroglu says that not very long ago there came a young married woman who could not get pregnant, which made her very sorrowful - the marriage was on the verge of collapse. This woman on her knees was praying for a long time before the icon of the Virgin, and a few days later she called and told the Adidaroglu couple in tears that a miracle had happened, and she is expecting a baby.

Revealed to Venerable Macarios of Alexandria.

Ven. Macarios of Alexandria, through prayers obtained an explanation of a thought occupying his mind – why is the commemoration of the dead  carried out on the 3rd, the 9th and the 40th day after their death?:

 

 When on the third day after death there is an offering in the church, then the soul of the deceased receives from its guardian angel relief in the sorrows that it feels from its separation from the body. For in the course of two days it is allowed to wander around the house where its body was laid, to go visit those places where it was during its lifetime, and on the third day it rises to worship God. Then in the course of 6 days the soul is shown the abode of the Saints and the beauty of Paradise. If the soul is guilty of sins, then at the sight of the saints' pleasures, it mourns and reproaches itself for its sins. After these 6 days, on the 9th day it rises again to worship God. After the second worship it is shown the place of torment, in which the souls of sinners weep incessantly. In those places the soul is flown for 30 days in tremor, lest it itself suffer that same fate. On the 40th day the soul ascends again to worship God, and then the Judge – by its deeds – determines a place for it.

During Lent, the Church recalls the Christian virtues, which help us to acquire the kingdom of God. And on the first Sunday of Lent we celebrate the triumph of the Orthodox Faith, - as was declared   in an address to the faithful on the occasion, by the First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, Metropolitan Agafangel.

He led a solemn liturgy in the Odessa temple of the Holy Archangel Michael.

Today we honor the Orthodox faith. Faith - is the most important thing. This is the foundation that must be in every human being. Without faith there is nothing, and everything will be meaningless. 

We need to have exactly the Orthodox faith. The faith that the  Apostles had, the faith which has  been taught to us by our Lord Jesus Christ. The Orthodox Church is the faith which contains His teachings.
