Except for my sincere human sympathy for this mentioned Deacon Alexander Gousev who has passed on, I must share an unsympathetic comment about the present sad state of the San Francisco ROCOR/MP cathedral, built by Saint John Maximovitch, anti-Soviet and anti-MP till his passing from this world, which has not been doing well for a long time now, in its ever-dwindling membership or in producing self-sustaining income levels for its bloated monthly income needs, regardless of this current pandemic catastrophe situation, which is affecting millions of people and many Orthodox, world-wide. But where is the originally promised big monetary help from Moscow, promised to the 2007 betrayers of our old ROCOR, to seduce them into slavery to the Kremlin and its captive MP-'church'?, to "Holy Patriarch Kyrill", Where NOW, are the 30 pieces of Judas silver? , and 'help' from the MP-Stalin's 1943 created phony shameful and uncanonical apostate 'Mother Church'?
From many other sources, we know that the 'money-help' flows FROM ROCOR/MP parishes.... TO MOSCOW. In return the MP sends back to its enslaved and inferior non-free American ROCOR/MP captive-daughter, what?: KGB/FSB agents dressed as priests/bishops and other infiltrating into America, various disguised agents of the Kremlin?
If one begs help from the Devil, then one must dance to his music....and take whatever pennies he might deign to throw at you...when you collapse from your dancing.
retired Reader Daniel Everiss in Oregon, very sad for my former friends and ROCOR co-religionists who were fooled and who went along with that shameful 2007 betrayal to the invalid and utterly non-canonical "Moscow Patriarchy"...which is still a complete captive of the residue of the communists control of Russia.
Lord Jesus. on Thy Cross, Save Us O Son of God!, and raise us up with Thee on Thy Glorious Resurrection Day!

Easter Donations The forced closing of our Cathedral is having a severe impact on the Church's finances. Income from sale of candles and religious books, collection plates, and general donations have plummeted to near zero. Although we have furloughed Church workers, deferred clergy salary increases, and made other cost savings, we project a year end deficit of over $150,000, the worst deficit in over twenty years. We are reaching out to you and asking you to give generously - in response to our Easter letter, by mailing checks to the Holy Virgin Cathedral, or by going to the Church's web site at www.sfsobor.com. Please donate the sums you would have given if you had gone to Church this month and next, and add a little extra for those who have lost their jobs and now find it difficult to give. And pray that the Church may soon reopen to allow us to worship together."
