Sharing what was shared with me: Icon of The Mother of God, "The Seeker of the Lost", or "The Rescuer of the Perishing".

Dan Everiss Thu, Mar 3, 2016 at 2:57 PM Icon of the Mother of God “The Seeker of the Lost”, also called: "The Rescuer of the Perishing" Commemorated on February 5 “Seeker of the Perishing” Icon of the Mother of God From time immemorial the Russian people, with faith in the all-powerful help of the Most Holy Theotokos, considered the title “Seeker of the Perishing” to refer not only to those who are dying, but to those whose souls are in danger of spiritual death.There are no reliable accounts of the origin of the icon, “Seeker of the Perishing.” There are, however, several wonderworking icons of this name, through which the Theotokos showed forth Her mercy to people on the very brink of death.In the mid-eighteenth century, in the village of Bor of Kaluga governance, the pious peasant Thedotus Obukhov lost his way in a blizzard on the Feast of the Lord’s Baptism. The horse became exhausted and paused on the edge of an impassable ravine. Not seeing any way to save himself, Obukhov lay down in his sleigh, where he began to freeze. In these terrible moments he prayed with all his being to the Queen of Heaven for help, and he vowed that if he was rescued he would have a “Seeker of the Perishing” icon painted and donate it to the local church. She heard his prayer and helped him in a marvelous way. A certain peasant in the nearby village heard a voice outside his window saying, “Take him.” He went out and saw the half-frozen Obukhov on his sleigh. When he recovered his health, Obukhov immediately fulfilled his vow and commissioned a copy of the icon from the St George church in the city of Bolkhov in the Orlov governance. From that time the Bor “Seeker of the Perishing” Icon was glorified by many manifestations of grace and miracles. There are other “Seeker of the Perishing” Icons: one manifested itself in 1770 in the village of Malizhino in Kharkov governance, and delivered the people from cholera three times; there was another in the village of Krasnoe in Chernigov governance, and another from Voronezh and Kozlov in Tambov governance. In the year 1835, at the Moscow Alexandrov Orphanage Institute, a church was consecrated in honor of the “Seeker of the Perishing” Icon. Of particular interest is the “Seeker of the Perishing” Icon in the Church of the Glorious Resurrection in Moscow. This icon had been transferred from the church of the Nativity of Christ to the Palashevska alley. Its final owner had become widowed and was on the verge of complete poverty. Fervent prayer to the Most Holy Theotokos saved him from despair and arranged matters for his daughters. This man felt that he was not worthy to have this wonderworking icon in his house, so he gave it to the church. In 1812 the Palashevsk church was pillaged by the French. The desecrated icon was found broken into three pieces among the rubble. With the finding of the icon, numerous miracles of healing took place. Brides entering into marriage pray before this icon that their marriage might be a happy one. People come to it, overwhelmed by drunkenness, perishing in poverty, suffering in illness, and they turn to the Icon in prayer as to a Mother with Her perishing children. The Queen of Heaven sends down help and support for all:  “Seek us who are perishing, O Most Holy Virgin, chasten us not according to our sins, but as you are merciful in your love for mankind, have pity, deliver us from hell, sickness and necessity, and save us” (Troparion, Tone 4).

This defect has been identified as "Sub sequential Internal Non-morality," more commonly known as S.I.N., as it is primarily expressed.

Some of the symptoms include : 

1. Loss of direction 

2. Foul vocal emissions 

3. Amnesia of origin 

4. Lack of peace and joy

5. Selfish or violent behavior 

6. Depression or confusion 

7. Fearfulness 

8. Idolatry 

9. Rebellion

The Manufacturer, who is neither liable nor at fault for this defect, is providing factory-authorized repair and service free of charge to correct this defect.

The Repair Technician, JESUS, has most generously offered to bear the entire burden of the staggering cost of these repairs. There is no additional fee required.

All have violated the major and pertinent canons, and are vagante pseudo-bishops, and priests. None of them are true or valid descendants of the old free ROCOR. None of their sacraments can possibly be, valid.......no matter what rank or grand clerical titles they give to  each other! And yet! they arrogantly selectively use and quote various  ancient canons, [ just as the MP is expertly adept at doing],  to condemn others!.. and even to proclaim who is in 'heresy' [ according to their warped knowledge of Orthodox doctrines or church history or of Patristics], . ..and conveniently neglecting the unpleasant canons  which also easily define  themselves as being in schism and ...even perhaps, in heresy. Епископы Филарет (Семовских) и Кассиан (Мухин) в октябре минувшего года вошли в новое церковное управление (юрисдикцию), организовавшееся на Соборе в селе Амосовка (Курской обл.).   The bishops Filaret (Semovskii) and Cassian (Mukhin) in October of last year, entered into a new church governance (jurisdiction), organized by the Council of the village of  Amosovka (Kursk Region.).   Эту юрисдикцию (РПЦЗ(В-Ф)) в сане Митрополита возглавил Филарет (Семовских), который в середине февраля фактически запретил в служении епископа Кассиана, перешедшего в Католическую Православную Церковь Франции.    This jurisdiction (ROCA (V-F)) is under the head of,  Metropolitan Filaret  (Semovskii), which in mid-February, had  actually banned in the ministry this   Bishop Cassian, who himself crossed over to the Catholic Orthodox Church of France.    Идеологом РПЦЗ(В-Ф) является протоиерей Валерий Рожнов, настоятель храма в Амосовке.    The ideologist of the ROCA (V-F) is an archpriest, named  Valery Rožnov, rector of the church in Amosovke.    Епископ Анастасий (Суржик) в октябре минувшего года на несколько дней присоединялся к РПЦЗ(А), однако его поступок не поддержала паства, после чего он перешел на полное самоуправление вне других юрисдикций РПЦЗ.   Bishop Anastasius (Surzhik) in October of  last year,  joined the ROCOR for a few days (A), but his action was not supported by his flock, after which he moved on to full self-government [autonomy]  in another ROCA  jurisdiction. Синод РПЦЗ(В-В) усмотрел в действиях епископа Филарета канонические преступления, предусмотренные 18-м правилом Четвертого Вселенского Собора и 14-м правилом Двукратного Константинопольского Собора.    The ROCOR Synod (B-B) has seen in the actions of Bishop Filaret, canonical offenses referred to the 18th rule of the Fourth Ecumenical Council and 14th rule-Second Council of Constantinople. Рассматривая дело епископа Анастасия, Синод напомнил об анафеме, которой этот епископ предал Синод еще в 2014 году, в результате чего и не был допущен к заседаниям Архиерейского Собора РПЦЗ(В-В) 2015 года.   Considering this matter, of Bp. Anastasia, the   Synod again re-proclaimed  the anathema, against him,  which the  Synod  had recinded in 2014, and as a result,  he thus was not admitted to the meetings of the Council of Bishops of the ROCOR (B-B) 2015.   Синод констатировал верность епископа Анастасия своим еретическим (киприанитским) взглядам и на основании тех же правил, что в случае с епископом Филаретом, лишил его сана. The  Synod of Bishops stated [as their reason for banning him]: the  allegiance of Anastasia to the  heretical (kiprianitskim) ["Cyprianitism"] views and based on the same canonical rules as in the case of Bishop Filaret, they stripped him of his episcopal dignity. В определении Синода РПЦЗ(В-В) по этому делу также говорится: "Напомнить всем последователям бывшего епископа Анастасия (Суржик), что никакое собрание духовенства или мирян не имеет в себе канонической компетенции принимать в свое общение отпавшего в раскол отступника-епископа, к тому же проповедующего ересь. Вопрос принятия или неприятия отпавшего в раскол епископа находится исключительно в компетенции Синода или Собора".    In the definition of the Synod (B-B) in the case also they said: "Remind all the followers of the former Bishop Anastasia (Surzhik) that all meetings of the clergy or by the laity of them, does not have any canonical competence to take into  their communion,  fallen away into schism an apostate bishop, who  besides, is  preaching heresy. The question of acceptance or rejection of the fallen away into schism of a bishop is the sole responsibility [to rule on] of the Synod of Bishops or Council. " Временное окормление Дальневосточной епархии РПЦЗ(В-В) поручено епископу Санкт-Петербургскому и Северо-Русскому Виктору, подворье Дальневосточной епархии в г. Калуге упразднено, а его клирик иерей Игорь Онуфриев переведен в состав Южно-Российской епархии.   The temporary pastorship of the  Far Eastern Diocese of the ROCA (B-B). is  transferred to the bishop of St. Petersburg and North-Russian, Victor from his 'podvoriyeh' residence, and the  Far East diocese in Kaluga, is  abolished, and that resident cleric, Priest Igor Onufriev, is transferred  to the South Russian diocese.
