Сегодня во всей вселенской Православной Церкви совершается торжественное воспоминание и прославление Крещения Господа Иисуса Христа от Иоанна Крестителя в реке Иордане. Святой Евангелист Матфей повествует, что когда Господь пришел на Иордан креститься, то Иоанн удерживал Его и говорил : мне надобно креститься от Тебя, и Ты ли приходишь ко мне ?

« Оставь ныне, говорит Господь, ибо так нам надлежит исполнить всякую правду »; т. е. Я для того пришел на землю и стал человеком, пребывая всегда Богом, чтобы исполнить всякую правду Божию, которая столь дерзновенно была попрана в раю первозданными человеками, и — потом чем дальше в глубину времен и родов человеческих, — тем дерзновеннее, лукавее, злее, попиралась всем родом человеческим, исключая немногих избранных. Я пришел взять на Себя все неправды и нечистоты человеческие, не оскверняясь ими, и принести Себя Самого в жертву искупительную, чтобы погрузить их в водах Иордана; Я хочу в Себе Самом как Богочеловек безгрешный омыть все неправды человеческие и преподать Моей Церкви чистительную Баню пакибытия в крещении водою и Духом: хочу Сам, исполнив всякую правду, научить людей правде Божией и дать им силу и благодать к исполнению ее. Вот что значат слова Господа Иоанну: оставь теперь, ибо так нам должно исполнить всякую правду.

Итак, в Иордане Господь крестился для того, чтобы победить нашего губителя диавола в водах, в коих он гнездился, и освятить воды, чтобы мы, в крещении при троекратном погружении во имя Святой Троицы, благодатно омывались от скверны прародительского греха, и возрождались в новую жизнь водою и Духом Святым, и усыновлялись Отцу Небесному святостию жития.

Обстоятельства самого рождения Богочеловека также запечатлены величайшею премудростию и правдою Божией. Он родился от бедной Пречистой Девы и положен был в яслях, спелёнатый рубищем как младенец, чтобы смирением Своим искупить гордость Адама с Евою, возмечтавших быть богами, чтобы обличить и смирить гордость человеческую и научить людей смирению, которое есть основание всякой добродетели.

Всё, что говорил и делал на земле Господь было необходимо для спасения, совершенства и блаженства человеческого; — и если кто отвергал и отвергает Его заповеди, советы, уставы, созданную Им на земле Церковь, — тот был и есть враг Богу и самому себе, отвергая Совет Божий о себе.

Крещение установлено Богом в Церкви для спасения человеческого рода, — и оно необходимо для всякого верующего как дверь к Царствию Божию, — и кто отвергал или отвергает его, тот отметает своё спасение, своё собственное вечное благо. Так Господь говорил о противившихся Ему фарисеях и книжниках, не желавших креститься от Иоанна, что они отвергли Совет Божий о себе, не крестившись от него (Лук. 7, 30).

Возлюбленные братья и сестры! Мы все сподобились святого крещения в младенчестве по вере родителей и восприемников, очистились от прародительского греха и отродились водою и Духом Святым и — усыновлены Отцу Небесному. Нам отверсты двери Царствия Небесного. Будем же всем сердцем всегда ценить этот дар Божий и свое звание сынов и дщерей Божиих по благодати, — удаляться всякого греха, и стремиться мыслями, желаниями и делами к Царству Небесному, к наследию нетленному, неувядаемому, уготованному на небесах для нас (1 Петр. 1, 4). Аминь.

John of Kronstadt: The Baptism of the Lord

Today, throughout the universal Orthodox Church, a solemn commemoration and glorification of the Baptism of the Lord Jesus Christ from John the Baptist in the Jordan River is being celebrated. The holy Evangelist  Matthew  tells that when the Lord came to the Jordan to be baptized, John held Him back and said: I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?

“Let it now, says the Lord, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness”; i.e. For this I came to earth and became a man, always remaining God, in order to fulfill all the righteousness of God, which was so boldly trampled in paradise by primitive people, and - then, the farther into the depths of time and human generations, the more boldly, more cunning, more evil, trampled on by the whole human race, except for a few chosen ones. I have come to take upon Myself all the unrighteousness and uncleanness of men, without being defiled by them, and to offer Myself as a redemptive sacrifice in order to immerse them in the waters of the Jordan; I want in Myself, as a sinless God-Man, to wash away all human iniquities and to give My Church the purifying Bath of resurrection in baptism with water and the Spirit: I want to Himself, having fulfilled all righteousness, teach people the truth of God and give them strength and grace to fulfill it.

So , in the Jordan, the Lord was baptized in order to defeat our destroyer the devil in the waters in which he nested, and to sanctify the waters, so that we, in baptism at threefold immersion in the name of the Holy Trinity, would be gracefully washed away from the filth of ancestral sin, and be reborn in new life by water and the Holy Spirit, and adopted by the Heavenly Father by the holiness of life.

The circumstances of the very birth of the God-man are also sealed with the greatest wisdom and truth of God. He was born of the poor Most Pure Virgin and was laid in a manger,  sang it covered  with rags like a baby, in order to redeem the pride of Adam and Eve with His humility, who dreamed of being gods, in order to expose and humble human pride and teach people humility, which is the basis of all virtue.

Everything that the Lord said and did on earth was necessary for the salvation, perfection and bliss of man; - and if anyone rejected and rejects His commandments, advice, charters, the Church created by Him  on earth, - he was and is an enemy to God and to himself, rejecting the Council of God about himself.

Baptism was instituted by God in the Church for the salvation of the human race—and it is necessary for every believer as the door to the Kingdom of God—and whoever rejects or rejects it, rejects his own  salvation, his own eternal  good. Thus the Lord spoke of the Pharisees and scribes who resisted Him, who did not want to be baptized by John, that they rejected God's counsel about themselves by not being baptized by him (Luke 7:30).

Beloved brothers and sisters! We all were worthy of holy baptism in infancy through the faith of our parents and sponsors, cleansed from our ancestral sin, and were born by water and the Holy Spirit, and were adopted by the Heavenly Father. The doors of the Kingdom of Heaven are open to us. Let us always with all our hearts value this gift of God and our title of sons and daughters of God by grace, — steer clear of all sin, and strive with thoughts, desires and deeds for the Kingdom of Heaven, for an incorruptible, unfading inheritance prepared in heaven for us (1 Pet. fourteen). Amen.

Baptême de Notre Seigneur

Aujourd'hui, à travers toute l'Église orthodoxe de l'univers, est solennellement glorifé le Baptême de Notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ  reçu du  saint Baptiste Jean dans le Jourdain. Le saint évangéliste  Matthieu  nous dit que lorsque le Seigneur est venu Se faire baptiser dans le Jourdain, Jean Le retint en disant :  c'est moi qui doi s  être baptisé par Toi, et c'est Toi qui viens à moi  ?

"Laisse faire maintenant, car il convient que nous accomplissions ainsi toute justice." Cela signifie :  Je suis venu sur terre et suis devenu homme, tout en restant Dieu, pour accomplir toute la justice divine qui avait été si honteusement piétinée d'abord au paradis, puis tout au long des siècles, de génération en génération, et de façon t oujours plus maligne et méchante  par toute la race humaine, quelques élus  mis à part . Je suis venu prendre sur Moi toutes les injustices et les péchés des hommes, sans en être souillé, et Je Me suis offert Moi-même en sacrifice expiatoire pour noyer toutes ces iniquités dans les eaux du Jourdain. Je veux, en tant que Dieu-Homme, exempt de tout péché, laver toutes les iniquités humaines et offrir à Mon Église un bain purifiant par un baptême d'eau et d'Esprit. Ayant accompli Moi-même toute justice, Je veux enseigner aux hommes la vérité de Dieu  et leur donner la force et la grâce pour l'accomplir.

Et le Seigneur reçut le baptême dans le Jourdain afin de vaincre le diable dans les eaux où celui-ci se nichait, et sanctifier les eaux afin qu'à notre tour, dans la triple immersion baptismale au nom de la Très-Sainte Trinité, nous soyons lavés de la souillure du péché originel, que nous renaissions à une vie nouvelle par l'eau et l'Esprit Saint, et devenions fils de notre Père Céleste par la sainteté de notre vie.

Les circonstances mêmes de la Nativité du Dieu-Homme sont également marquées par la plus grande sagesse et la vérité divine. Notre Seigneur est né d'une très pure Vierge totalement démunie, Il fut déposé dans une crèche, emmailloté dans des haillons comme un bébé, dans le but de racheter par Son humilité l'orgueil d'Adam et Eve qui s'étaient rêvés devenir des dieux, pour dénoncer et dompter l'orgueil des hommes et pour leur enseigner l'humilité, qui est la base de toute vertu.

Tout ce que le Seigneur a fait et dit sur terre était indispensable à notre salut, était nécessaire à notre perfection et à notre félicité. Quiconque rejette Ses commandements, Ses conseils ou bien l'Église qu'Il a fondée sur terre, celui-ci a toujours été et reste un ennemi de Dieu et de son propre salut, car il rejette le dessein de Dieu le concernant.

Le baptême a été institué par Dieu pour le salut du genre humain, et il est indispensable à tout croyant, car il est la porte qui nous permet d'entrer dans le Royaume de Dieu, et celui qui rejette ou méprise le baptême, celui- ci rejette son propre salut et sa félicité éternelle. C'est en effet ce que disait le Seigneur des scribes et des pharisiens qui s'opposaient à Lui, refusaient de recevoir le baptême de Jean, rejetant ainsi le dessein de Dieu à leur égard en ne se faisant pas baptiser par lui (Luc 7 , thirty).

Bien aimes freres et sœurs! Tous nous avons été rendus dignes dans notre enfance de recevoir le saint baptême de par la foi de nos parents et de nos parrains, nous avons été purifiés du péché originel, nous avons connu une nouvelle naissance par l'eau et l'Esprit Saint et nous sommes devenus fils et filles de notre Père Celeste. Les portes du Royaume des Cieux sont ouvertes pour nous. Faisons en sorte de toujours chérir de tout notre cœur ce don de Dieu, ainsi que le fait d'être par la grâce appelés fils et filles de Dieu; éloignons nous de tout péché et aspirons par toutes nos pensées, nos désirs et nos actions au Royaume des Cieux, à l'héritage incorruptible qui jamais ne passera,  et qui a été  préparé pour nous dans les Cieux. amen

Archpriest Veniamin Zhukov, well-known in the former ROCOR, died in France at the age of 92.

Father Veniamin was a very active and influential person, he did not recognize the retirement of Metropolitan Vitaly and, at first, was among his close circle.  But later he was pushed aside from this environment and formed an independent isolated group (ROCOR VZH), the leader of which he was until the end of his days.

With his death, the life and meaning of this group ceased to exist.

Much to our regret, the former ROCOR was divided into separate groups, which imperceptibly degenerated into sects, which is evident even from the fact that they are subordinate and dependent solely on their leader. They can no longer choose another (because they were not allowed to have another organizer and leader in their midst).  With the death of the leader, the whole group dies.  True, it happens that a temporary replacement for the leader is found, but this only somewhat postpones the death of the entire group, and does not give it any prospects.

I contacted Fr. Veniamin with a proposal to start at least some kind of dialogue.  But, unfortunately, never received a response.  Now it's too late. Sorry.

Скончался протоиерей Вениамин Жуков

На 92 году жизни во Франции умер известный в прежней РПЦЗ протоиерей Вениамин Жуков.

О. Вениамин был очень деятельным и влиятельным человеком, не признал уход на покой Митрополита Виталия и, первое время, был в числе его близкого окружения. Но впоследствии был оттеснён из этого окружения и образовал самостоятельную изолированную группу (РПЦЗ ВЖ), руководителем которой являлся до конца своих дней.

С его кончиной жизнь и смысл этой группы прекратили существование.

К большому сожалению, прежняя РПЦЗ раздробилась на отдельные группки, которые незаметно выродились в секты, что видно даже из того, что подчинены они и зависимы единственно от своего лидера. Они уже не могут избрать другого (поскольку в их среде не допускалось наличие иного организатора и руководителя). Со смертью лидера, умирает вся группа. Правда, случается, что находится временная замена лидеру, но это только несколько откладывает кончину всей группы, и не придаёт ей никаких перспектив.

Я несколько раз обращался к о. Вениамину с предложением начать хоть какой-то диалог. Но, к сожалению, ни разу ответа так и не получил. Теперь уже поздно. Жаль.
