Greetings to one and all.

This book has been out of print for many years. I highly recommend it, considering it is so hard to find. I was lucky and received the hard-bound version as a gift.
Its content is timely. There are a lot of parallels with our modern American social atmosphere and the pre-post revolutionary Russian/Soviet one, especially considering the stance of militant atheism against religion.
Please download the book and give it a read. It is a PDF scan, so it is hard to search, but it means that it can be easily uploaded to a phone or tablet to read on the go. I am attaching links to the source site and the one I used for the easiest download.
God be with you.

  1. a COMMENT on this article, "The pdf of The Catacomb Saints"-An Advisory Warning-its deficiency-

This is both Fr. Andrew's praise and his critique of the ending of this particular pdf version, which was made from a Platina expurgated & abridged text, what it lacks, its weakness, what anti-MP statements, they deliberately left out,.... which was 'corrected' (?) by ROCOR/MP Bp. George Shaffer......
by Fr. Andrew Kencis in Alberta.

As excellent as this book is, it troubled  me when I realized that they (Platina) took a softer approach with the MP. And I was quite surprised when I realized what Andreyev actually wrote at the conclusion of “Is the Grace of God in the Soviet Church”...whereas read page 35 of  this pdf Catacomb Saints, then re-read the end of the hard-bound book we sent to you. ["Is the Grace of God in the Soviet Church"],

***_Platina left out a significant part of the ending, misrepresenting what he actually said. Andreyev says “we refuse any kind of relation, whatever it may be, with the Soviet Church, for we doubt that she has Grace.” Please also note that my emphasis in the book was in the original Russian. We did not embellish anything. Also I was very very careful to make sure that we got the ending right and not imposing my  own ideas into any part of it. As I wrote to you, before I actually discovered a part of the “corrections” from (now ROCOR/MP  bishop ) George Schaffer, where he eliminated and softened another sentence in which the meaning was very clear and unambiguous against the MP. We restored that part.

    Fr. Andrew
