Архимандрит Серафим (Алексиев) (1912-1993 гг.) Archimandrite Seraphim (Alexiev) (1912-1993 biennium). Духовный сын приснопамятного архиепископа Серафима (Соболева) архимандрит Серафим (в миру Алексиев Стоян Георгиев) родился 25 февраля 1912 года в селе Горно Броди в Македонии и был младшим сыном во многочисленном семействе бедных благочестивых родителей . The spiritual son of the ever-memorable Archbishop Seraphim (Sobolev), Archimandrite Seraphim (in the world Alexey Stoyan Georgiev) was born February 25, 1912 in the village of Gorno Brodi in Macedonia and was the youngest son in a family of numerous poor pious parents.    Его отец Георгий Алексиев занимался отливкой колоколов - делом, которое он завещал своим двум старшим детям Димитрию и Афанасию.    His father George was engaged in casting bells, the  Alexiev -family  business, which he bequeathed to his two older children Dimitri and Athanasius. Третий сын - Стоян отличался чутким церковным сознанием и глубокой верой.    The third son -Stoyan , possessed an uncommon  and sensitive mind towards the Church and of deep faith.   После переселения семьи в Софию из-за Балканских войн Стоян поступил в Софийскую духовную семинарию, которую закончил с отличием . After a family relocation to Sofia, because of the Balkan wars, in Sofia, Stoyan entered the seminary, from which he graduated with honors.    Через некоторое время, получив научную степень доктора богословия за диссертацию на тему "Смысл заповедей Иисуса Христа в нагорной проповеди", он был назначен преподавателем сначала в Пловдивской, а затем в Софийской духовной семинарии.    After some time, he  received the  degree of Doctor of Divinity for his thesis on "The meaning of the commandments of Jesus Christ in the Sermon on the Mount", he was appointed as a teacher, first in Plovdiv, Sofia and then in the seminary. Здесь, 3 февраля 1940 года, он принял монашество и именем Серафим в честь преподобного Серафима Саровского, которого глубоко почитал на протяжении всей своей жизни и которому посвятил позднее одну из любимейших книг болгарских православных читателей - "Святой Серафим Саровский" .  Here, on  February 3, 1940, he became a monk with the name of Seraphim, in honor of St. Seraphim of Sarov, which saint he  deeply honored throughout his life and to whom he  later dedicated one of the most read  books of  Bulgarian Orthodox readers - "Saint Seraphim of Sarov".   Переломным моментом в жизни молодого монаха стало его сближение с пребывавшим в Болгарии русским архиепископом Серафимом (Соболевым).   The turning point in the young monk's life was his coming together with,[with the stay in Bulgaria of]  Russian Archbishop Seraphim (Sobolev).   От него отец Серафим воспринял живое чувство Православной веры и тонкое ощущение духовной жизни, которые он впоследствии сам передал своим многочисленным духовным чадам.    From his spiritual Father, Seraphim,  gained  a lively sense of the Orthodox faith and the subtle feelings of spiritual life, which he later conveyed himself, to  his many spiritual children. На Благовещение 1943 года инок Серафим был рукоположен во иеромонаха.    At the Feast of the Annunciation in 1943, monk Seraphim was ordained to the priesthood.   После двухгодичного служения протосингелом при Сливенской митрополии, отец Серафим был возведен в сан архимандрита в январе 1947 года и перемещен на должность начальника культурно-просветительного отдела при Священном Синоде Болгарской Православной Церкви в Софии.    After a two-year service as 'protosingelom' in the Sliven archdiocese, Father Seraphim was elevated to the rank of Archimandrite in January of 1947 and moved up to the position of the Head of the cultural and educational department of the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church in Sofia.    В то тяжкое для Церкви время архимандрит Серафим неединожды доблестно защищал Православную веру.    At the center of the church, administration, Archimandrite Seraphim consistently and  valiantly defended the Orthodox faith.    На новой должности он развил неустанную деятельность, организуя курсы по пастырству для священников, вдохновенно проповедуя, регулярно издавая свои беседы, а также множество статей, брошюр и обширных трудов на духовно-нравственные темы.    In his new position, he developed his tireless work in organizing pastoral courses for priests, and his  inspired preaching, was  regularly published as a  conversation, as well as numerous articles, brochures and extensive writings on  spiritual and moral themes.   Архимандрит Серафим обладал также редким поэтическим даром, который он выразил во многих стихотворениях и поэмах, помещенных в церковных изданиях, а также в двух сборниках стихов.    Archimandrite Seraphim also had a rare poetic gift, which he expressed in many poems, many of which  poems were placed in church publications, as well as two collections of poems. В 1960 году архимандрит Серафим был назначен преподавателем при кафедре догматического богословия в Софийской духовной академии Климента Охридского и вскорости был утвержден в звании доцента, с трудом посвященным критике римо-католического догмата о непорочном зачатии Пресвятой Богородицы.    In 1960, Archimandrite Seraphim was appointed as a lecturer at the department of dogmatic theology at the Theological Academy of Sofia, named after St.  Kliment of Ohridski, and soon he was promoted to the higher rank of an associate professor, and he was strongly devoted to criticism of the Roman Catholic dogma of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin.    Будучи доцентом, он продолжал публикацию богословских статей .  As an assistant professor, he continued to publish theological articles. После десятилетей преподавательской деятельности в духовной академии, архимандрита Серафима принудили оставить ее в 1969 году, из-за несогласия с введением нового календарного стиля в церковный обиход и вообще с экуменистическим уклоном всей церковной политики Болгарской Православной Церкви, последовавшим за вступлением ее в 1968 году во "Всемирный Совет Церквей".    After decades of teaching at the Theological Academy, Archimandrite Seraphim was forced to leave it in 1969 because of his disagreement with the introduction of the new-style  calendar into the  ecclesiastical life of the Bulgarian church, and in general with the ecumenical infulences throughout the church policy of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church that followed its entry into, in 1968, the  " World Council of Churches. " Удалившись в Покровский монастырь в квартале Княжево в Софии, гонимый отец Серафим продолжил свою творческую деятельность, написав ряд книг духовно-нравственного содержания, большинству которых еще предстоит достичь читателя.    Retiring to the  Pokrovsky Monastery in the  Knyazhevo quarter of  Sofia, energetic  Father Seraphim continued his artistic career, writing a series of books of spiritual and moral content, most of which have yet to reach the reader.   Особенно много внимания и сил посвятил архимандрит Серафим в последние годы своей жизни углубленной критике экуменизма как ереси.   Especially a lot of attention and effort has been devoted to Archimandrite Seraphim in his later years, over his  in-depth critique of ecumenism as a heresy.    Последний труд его, составленный совместно с архимандритом Сергием (Язаджиевым), книга «Православие и экуменизм», плод исследований в течение четырех веков, вышел из печати всего за три недели до его кончины, которая последовала 26 января 1993 года.   The last work he composed together with Archimandrite Sergius (Yazadzhievym), was  the book "Orthodoxy and Ecumenism", which was the fruit of research of over four centuries, and which was published just three weeks before his death, which followed, on January 26, 1993.
