July 21, 2013 near the town of Midlburg held the Great Blessing Church of the Holy New Martyrs and Confessors Russian. It is symbolic that the first celebration of the saints was not so far away, just a 3-hour drive away, in the city of New York, October 19 / November 1, 1981, when the Primate of the Orthodox Church was Metropolitan Filaret (Voznesensky), which is now also glorified among the saints. Lead the consecration of Archbishop Andronicus, managing the Syracuse Diocese and St. Nicholas. Date of consecration, July 21, 2013, was not chosen by chance - it's next door to the Day of Resurrection the murder of the Tsar-Martyr Nicholas II and his august family July 4/17, 1918.
In anticipation of this event, we interviewed the head of the Orthodox cultural center IG Yuri Lukin.
Small-consecration of the church took place on November 24, 2012 - then not all construction work has been completed and more work needed to be done and that, after a few months, we have received an invitation to come to the Great Blessing, a completely rebuilt temple. Please tell us about what will happen.
-The ruling bishop, Archbishop Andronicus, bless bless our great consecration of the temple, which, God willing, will be held on Sunday, July 21 at 8:30 am. We invite you to share with us this holiday, you can say this is a birthday of the church. Reception will begin on Saturday (07.20.13) after 3 hours of the day. At 6:30 am start Vespers, and on Sunday, at 8:30 am, will rank the Great Blessing of the church and the liturgy.
-Who will be invited guests of the official?
-Lord Andronicus sent out invitations, and we already know that the Lord will come Sophronius, Archbishop of St. Petersburg and the North-Russian and Lord Auxentios (Caban) Fotikiysky Bishop, Vicar Etniyskoy Synod of the Diocese of opposing CPI Greece, the myrrh-streaming icon of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker of Myra (Link: Information on the icon), with its guardian, the father Ilya Warnke. Also, many priests will come with his flock from different parishes of the United States.
-What other activities are planned for the day?
After the liturgy, we will have a festive meal. We ordered a large tent, marquee for 300 people, where lunch will be served. Immediately after the meal for the guests, which for the first time, we will arrange a tour of the temple and the main building. Father Nikita Grigoriev, the English version will fight it. This trip is mainly for American visitors, in order to acquaint them with Orthodoxy, bring them to the temple. Many people living around are interested in, call in, ask, and so it will be a good opportunity to show them what we are doing. Then there will be a concert, the rooms of which will be made up of Russian folk dances, choir performances, as well as performances by musicians with a repertoire of works of Russian classical music.
-Could you clarify how to accommodate guests who want to come on holiday with accommodation. Where they can find a hotel, and whether people come with tents, and whether pre-inform you about this?
-We have a great building, but, unfortunately, we can not accommodate 300 people here at the same time. Most of the rooms will be provided to the clergy and elderly guests who find it difficult to settle down somewhere else, I would say that all these rooms have already been booked. For those who are not afraid to put the tent will be a field with grass mowing, there will be water and portable toilets, so that those who have a tent and spend the night can deliver. The picturesque and well. Also nearby (7 miles) to the fairly large city Cobleskill and other campus Schoharie, there are hotels (Days Inn, Super 8, Best Western) - they are not expensive, but necessary, of course, to reserve in advance, because in the summer they do not always have mesta.Ofitsialno we take people on Saturday after 3:00, but if someone wants to help, it may come earlier. We are asking people to report in advance of their arrival at the address: MVROC2013@gmail.com - it will help us be better prepared for their reception.
-Tell us something that has been done recently, and what else should be done.
First of all I would like to note that, thanks to the efforts of the people who have worked here for two years, a lot has been done, and we rejoice that soon it will be possible to use this building come to life in the church, and thank God for this gift.
Starting with the purchase of this building and to this day there were so many wonderful coincidence that another, as God's help it will not name. Even in such a small, seemingly detail how the neighbor with which we later learned, was a Greek Orthodox, began to visit and a lot of help, come to church with the family. This year, the nearest town was elected mayor of the Greek Orthodox, too, and he came to our church, when two weeks ago we had a liturgy in English.
As I said, a lot of people living close by, showing interest in us. In this regard, we have decided to once a month to serve the Liturgy in English; attendance is very good for a start, the last time there were about 40 people, including 30 Americans had more people, so it starts to develop missionary work. The Church must engage in missionary work, it can not be just the church for people who come from far away.
Currently, the development of our spiritual and cultural center in three directions. First, it is a temple, church services and missionary work. Second, it is picking up the monastic brotherhood of St. Mina, headed by Lord Andronicus, and the third is a device where you can escape from the city, to cleanse the heart and receive spiritual exercises.
In the future, we hope that there will be more religious, and the idea that there a monastery, slowly materialize. It is not necessary that the monks lived together with the worldly, we have a lot of land, 56 acres, and you can still finish the deal. The land is fertile, you can engage in gardening and horticulture.
basic idea of our center - is Orthodox, one in which we were born, that was willing to us by our grandfathers and fathers, which was our ROCA before the union, which stands for the truth and is not associated with the pressure Governments and political idey.Vse what we do, we do from the heart, not for the sake of personal gain or glory, but for God's sake do, for the sake of salvation in Christ.
Completion and dedication of the temple is one of the main stages in the development of our center. We invite everyone to join our fun and visit us!

Interview with Archbishop of Syracuse and St. Nicholas Andronicus (Kotlyarov), taken in

Bright Week 2012

"I want to appeal to our congregation and to all, please keep this place ... "

In the neighborhood of Middleburga, located in the picturesque hills of Eastern Orthodox Center of the American Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church. Shortly after moving here our pravyaschyago Bishop Archbishop Andronicus (Kotljarova) sounded prayer, the pilgrims began to arrive and there were parishioners. An interview with Bishop Andronicus, taken us a year ago on Easter Week.
Christ is Risen!
-Dear Lord, it's been a few years since you have to live here, to make a complete cycle of services and hence control the diocese. Can you remember how it all began?
-After the events associated with the union of the Church Abroad and the Moscow Patriarchate, those who lived in the monastery (ROCOR), and did not agree with this association, had somewhere to go. At first I was in Jerusalem, and then hit the fraternity at Jericho, and when we were there and once again kicked out, I went to the U.S., where I have relatives here and politically more stable than, say, in Palestine. And if the monastery will be created, then no one will take him. With this in mind, I have lived, and that the Lord, in the face of Yuri Lukin sent us the opportunity to arrange here under Middleburgom, monastery and the spiritual center. Previously, the Synod of the Church Abroad was in New York, the monastery in Jordanville, but now we have lost everything, and we hope that this place will become, over time, with the help of God, our spiritual center. So I moved here, I would like to here was the center of our diocese, Syracuse and St. Nicholas, and I pray that the Lord has increased the number of our brethren. Our congregation, who lives in New York City, Brooklyn and New Jersey can now come, breaking away from the bustle of the city, pogovet get spiritual food. As you can see, and the atmosphere here is wonderful and nature - and for the monastery, and for the people.

-Master, could you tell us how this place has been found, and how you came here?
-You know, it's very interesting how we got here, we bought this place. When I lived in Jordanville monk, even when I was a seminarian, then travel to New York, we used the 145th and expensive all the time admiring this place when passing by - it is incredibly somehow attracts people, and here you go, it happened , on the road, you look and say, "That would be Orthodox monastery in this place!" At that time there was a Catholic monastery, everything was neat and tidy, lots of flowers. "What a wonderful place for a monastery" - that's how we thought driving. And after I returned from the Holy Land, I was still then Archimandrite, and I was assigned to these places, how to manage the county, then I will soon put a bishop, and all the time I was looking for a place for a monastery. My sister Val knew what I was looking for such a place, and we went everywhere, but nowhere to be found, did not feel - this is ours, indeed, a place for the soul, when you find it, then there is no doubt that this is the right place . And somehow Val says: "What is this place was where the Roman Catholic monastery was, we passed?" And became interested, she went and found in urban governance, then stopped off here, see: here all the overgrown grass, abandoned and she found out that this place is run five years, no one lives there, and it's a former Catholic monastery, then stopped when the monastery, the monastery administration gave the buildings to house the elderly. But the nursing home, apparently because of poor management, such as they are lavishing money and ceased to exist, and five years of house was abandoned, uncared for, and the building began to decay and rot. Val also learned that May 15 will be an auction for the sale of the building, and we're somewhere in February or March, said George G.: "Found an interesting place, you would not want to see?" He says, "Okay, we'll go next weekend. "And as soon as he saw the place from afar, from the mountain, and we drove up, was the door that led into the church was open, we went round, he looked at everything here, I saw that the building foundation is solid - certainly saw that the heating system of the building is old and a lot to fix, but he then says, "Yes, the potential is good ..." We see a great potential to create here the spiritual center of our Orthodox Church. When Jura bought the place, and we asked, "Yuri, you can build a monastery here?" "Yes," says, "it would be very good," and that he allowed us, and we came in June. A month after the purchase, we settled here, then began regularly working weekends, when people came to help, to clear and remove debris. That's how we started our reasoning here. At the time of repair in the temple was constructed temporary church in the lobby, where services started.
, The patron saint of your monastic brotherhood was chosen St. Great Martyr Mina. Could you tell us how it happened?
-I went to Romania and a half years ago, I met there Archimandrite Barnabas, who founded his monastery, and he founded his monastery in honor of the martyr Mina, and he told me, I have heard that in America you are going to build a monastery, name it in honor of St. Mina and St. Mina will not leave you and help you. I was very impressed after this trip, from the crowds services in the beauty of the temples. Archimandrite Barnabas built at three temples, a huge residential building on the hill, he has a lot of land, the brothers had only vesem or nine people with him, but he has people who are around, come and help build it, and everything about him, even a quarry, not quarry rubble and where do well, in short, he sells it, and it buys and builds material, and help people, and he has grown a monastery, he says, all thanks to the St. Mina, and if you call his fellowship in honor of St. Mina, then he will not leave and will help you. And when he told me this, I immediately he returned from Romania, began to read about St. Mina, what a wonderful life he had, and he promised to help all those who will be in prayer for him to handle, so I decided to name the fraternity in honor of Holy Martyr Mina. Thank God, the Lord did not leave us, and we with God's help based two monasteries here in America - is at Agapov, a convent, and there will be men's monastery, and several parishes have joined us, it's too happy. Andrew O. Kenzes in Edmonton and on. George in Toronto, so that the Lord does not abandon us.
-What would you like to wish our congregation?
-I just want to appeal to our congregation and to all, please keep this place by our orthodox center, help whatever they can and financially, because we need, more needs to be done. You do not have to do it, you do it for yourself, here is a way that can always come and rest. We do not know, God knows, maybe the time will come when you will need to escape the monastery around here, because you know there will be times when nothing in the cities will not be available, and the land here and there, and the water source, and can be, it will be a safe haven for our flock.
-Save, O Lord, O Lord, for agreeing to answer questions, let us pray to the Lord Jesus Christ, that sent the "laborers for the harvest of Christ for the salvation of us."
